Hey y'all! I'm a US Citizen, was born and raised in the Philippines. I got my US Citizenship over a year ago. I was just wondering how likely that my brother will get approved for a US tourist Visa? He is currently in Japan working for ANA Airlines on a work visa and been living in Japan for over a year now, and getting his 3 yr work visa in a couple of days. Does he need to go back to Philippines to apply in US Consulate or can he apply in Japan since he works/live there?

Hi Folks, My wife & I are in the process of bringing her son over from the Philippines on a K2 "Follow To Join" VISA option. She came to the US last May & we were married in June. She asked me about potentially changing her son's last name to my/our last name since he would be the only one in the house with a different last name. Does anyone know what options we have to make this happen? Thanks! Kawika

Good Day, On I130 application there are sections that talk about rather I've ever previously filed a petition for this applicant. The answer is I previously filed a I129F which resulted in a K1 visa that was used. We got Married in the US in 90 days and then left the US and moved back overseas before submission of adjustment of status. I assume that the K1 visa doesn't count and that only the adjustment of status would have counted. Am I correct, or should I somehow mention the previous approved I129F. As a K1 visa isn't technically an immigrant visa rather a visa with Immigrant intent I suspect it doesn't count as a previous petition. Thoughts? Thanks, Joe

hello all it has been several years since i have been on the site. if this is in the wrong section, please move to the right one, thank you. Just recently we filed for the renewal of my wife's green card. Filled out the I-90 and jumped through all the hoops. It was a quick return and approval. The problem is, they put her maiden name and not her married one. When we did her biometrics, we showed her license and our marriage license. They assured us that everything was in order. Well today we got it in the mail and it's in her maiden name and not married. What can we do? Beside for refiling and spending money on another I-90?

Is it typical to wait 6 months for the NVC to schedule spouse visa interview with us embassy in Manila. We have been documentarily approved for 6 months.
