Hi all, it's good news I just got Documentarily Qualified from NVC for my wife's IR-1 case in the Philippines, but there is a Case FE note on the CEAC website that states the following: The income reported as stated on form I-864, I-864A is insufficient to overcome the public charge grounds of inadmissibility for visa issuance. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 from a joint sponsor may be submitted. I do have enough income on my I-864 which is about 12k above the annual requirements, but my 2023 tax return showed income well below the requirements. Now I know that many have received this message before and it's probably only the tax return that is flagging this message and our current income is what matters but here is my question. Would the NVC have DQ my papers if the stated CURRENT income on my I-864 was below the 125% poverty line requirements? Thank you so much!

I just got an email that I can already schedule my interview in the embassy. My fiance and I are still planning to get married but a bunch of stuff happened that impacted our financial situation by a lot. So we were thinking that we should at least wait for 9 months up to a year just to fix our finances a bit. Would it be possible to schedule the interview in 9 months or do i have to have it scheduled this year?

Has anyone ever made their appointments for CFO before receiving visa and then returning for the sticker. With 5 of us it would make this Manila travel so much easier.

Hello! I am considering petitioning for my mom, only because she has been denied a tourist visa when she renewed it. She previously held a 10-year tourist visa and used it twice to visit me. She stayed for 4 months during her first, and the second, which was a few years later, was 5 months. Apparently, these long visits seems to be an issue during her renewal interview. I am a US citizen, and I can just easily -although a lengthy process- to petition my mom, but she does not want to immigrate here. She only wants to come visit. I guess my question is: I am not familiar with the rules of the I-130. Is this even a good idea to pursue this if she only wants to visit? The visit may only be once or twice every 2 years for 1-2 mos, if that. What steps does she need to take to maintain her status if we go this route? What are your thoughts?
