Wow... it's been about 10 years since I was an active part of the VJ community. My husband is starting the process of renewing his Green Card. I was wondering what kind of supporting documents they are looking for at this point in the game? We've been married for 13 years, have a beautiful daughter, and have lived in the same house the entire time. I'm just not sure what to gather for this process. Thank you for any insight you may have on this process! I'm also looking for the USCIS processing times, and I can't seem to find it. Help! Thanks, everyone!!

Hello, Long time reader, first time poster here. I had my immigration interview in Montreal yesterday and was refused because the police check the OPP ordered for me through the RCMP was incorrect. I ve already gone to the Commissionaire s to have the correct one ordered (as I found the correct info on this forum) - the privacy act entire holdings etc. So not I have to wait for that to arrive to send it in. During the interview, I also disclosed that almost 20 years ago, I was arrested for something (thanks to a terrible ex boyfriend) but the case was thrown out before I went to court and I was never convicted. Now I ve already requested Certified proof of the outcome of the charges through that courthouse, but they are quite backed up and have a 8-10 week wait time for these documents (I requested them 4 weeks before my interview). The Consulate Officer asked me to send in those documents as well, when sending in the correct police check. He gave me a letter stating the visa was refused and then listed the two documents required. The letter doesn t say they will reconsider me l it just shows the two documents in the lines underneath where it was the visa was denied. He did keep my passport, however, and gave me a separate sheet advising how to send in the documents. 1. I feel like it s a positive thing that he kept my passport, but the more times I read the letter, the more I m second guessing myself since it doesn t specifically say they might reconsider once they review the documents. Can anyone with experience in this confirm is this is a positive or negative sign. 2. Does the proper police check (Certified Criminal Record Check - Personal Use from the RCMP) show any juvenile record? I didn t even get a chance to mention a shoplifting charge from when I was 15 or 16, as we were mainly focused on the arrest from when I was 19. Should I be looking into getting a certified proof of the outcome of that too? Or is that even something I can get for a juvenile charge? I hope this makes sense. I have no problem getting anything I need. I m just trying to figure out how to get everything as quickly as possible so I can be with my fianc and our son can be with his dad again soon. Thank you in advance!

I have a 10 year geeencard and it expired. I filed out the form to renew it in February but I am still waiting for the new card. I did my biometrics and eveyrhting. How can I make an appointment to get the stamp? Infopass said they will call me back but with no specific date. Is there any way around this? I tried going to the USCIS field office but they won t let you in. My trip to Mexico is in two weeks.

After receiving IR-1: - When does the IMMIGRATING SPOUSE no longer have provincial health coverage? (Aug 22 or Aug 23?)
- When does the US CITIZEN SPOUSE no longer have provincial health coverage? (same as immigrating spouse or date of physical relocation?)
- When do the CHILDREN no longer have provincial health coverage?
--Using the following dates-- - Currently resident in Canada
- Aug. 22, 2022 - Endorse IR-1 (I-551)
- Nov. 10, 2022 - Physically move to US as a family
It's insane trying to communicate with RAMQ (Quebec). The waiting list is currently 20 days to ask a simple question.

Hi, I wanted to see if anyone can clarify some questions I have about the NVC/Consular stage for a marriage based visa. My husband is my sponsor and we filed the I-130 which was approved in May 2022, it was then forwarded to the NVC and we submitted all of the required documents in June. When we submitted our I-864 paperwork, my husband was employed and his annual income covered the threshold needed to sponsor me, but he has since lost his job, and due to some personal things going on in his life, he may not be able to find another job before the interview. His income has been cut off, so now he will not make enough this year to sponsor me on his own. His mother lives at the same residence as him and we saw that you can combine a household member's income so that together it covers the threshold. What I'm wondering is can I bring an updated I-864 and I-864a plus all the required docs for both of them to the interview and can they make a decision on the spot based off that, or will they require me to wait to process it further, and will I have to do another interview because our situation has changed? Also wondering if it is acceptable that my husband will be unemployed by the time I get to my interview. Is he required to be employed even if he is combining his current income with his mom's? Thanks for your help!
