US Immigration from Canada

I did some searching but all the threads I found were several years old and wanted to see if anyone had any recent experiences.

I have moved to the US and need to import my car from Canada, this is the last item for me. I have requested a compliance letter from Kia but I seem to be having issues as the letter Kia Canada provided does not confirm the vehicle meets FVMSS standards, they reference CVMSS which the vehicle already has a label for this. Kia said the only letter they can provide is the one that says it meets the EPA standards and the CVMSS.

Has anyone successfully imported a Kia to the US recently in the last couple years? I am wanting to import my 2018 Kia Stinger, the vehicle has TPMS and everything, its just missing the label in the drivers side door saying it meets the FVMSS.

I am open to any advice, help or ideas as I would love to get this matter wrapped up ASAP. Thx

I moved from Canada to the US on a K1 visa at the end of January 2022. Before I left, I set up a cross-border banking account and credit card with RBC (has worked great so far, definitely recommend as an option for moving funds from Canada to US and vice versa).

Last week I went with my husband to set up a joint bank account so that we can pay bills etc., from that account. We set it up at the credit union where he has his chequing/savings accounts set up Safe CU in California).

I'm looking for advice on how people have handled moving funds from a cross-border banking account to a US account such as the joint account I set up with my husband. From what I understand, e-transferring isn't an option as it is in Canada (at least, with the same level of simplicity?). I think I can set myself as a payee in each account as if I was setting up for paying a bill, but I'm not sure if that's the best approach. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you in advance!

It seems the current protocol is a 2-yr extension letter, with some biometrics waived. The case numbers on the receipt notice and the biometrics letter are the same, and can be tracked in myUSCIS.

Please review other recent 751 posts for other changes as biometrics is as far as we have gotten...

I am looking for those who are f4 and waiting for interview at Montreal. I have seen many other such f or f2 or F3 but nobody from the f4. If you are f4 please reply here and share your timeline so others can have a idea of approximate waiting time.

My case was expedited by NVC and posted by US department of state Visa appointment services for interview on October,5 at US consulate in Montreal but I did not receive any appointment letter from the US consulate so far . I e-mailed them but no response. Shall I go to my appointment which was assigned by US department of state only without any letter from the consulate in Montreal !! Will I be allowed to attend the interview without their letter . Any recommendations are highly appreciated
