At the interview (Montreal Consulate), I was issued a 221(g) white slip and my passport was returned to me on the spot.

The officer told me they had all the documents they needed and the white slip says: "Supplemental questions will be sent to you by email. Passport"

Also, the signature space was left blank by the officer.

I can't seem to get any info on what this means other than it could be anything

How long does it take to receive the e-mail?

We waited, and tried all that. It has been 7 months already. We kept calling USCIS to see if the card was returned but it was not. USPS investigated it and said it was their mistake because the temporary holiday postal workers mis-delivered it. The card actually arrived right before Christmas 2018, just not at our mailbox.
Even if we found the card now it wouldn't be valid because I had to go in for a re-do of the biometrics - so that card is outdated and invalid anyways.

Hi I know this is old but worth a shot. I'm in almost the exact same situation - temporary holiday postal worker put it in the wrong mailbox and I filed for I-90 under "never delivered". We were also told the same information that I need to file it under lost/stolen and pay the fee so I didn't get my stamp at my appointment. We've sent in a letter AND fax to cancel the existing I-90 under the advice of the clerk at my stamp appointment. Also contacted my state senator for assistance which was almost no help. USCIS responded to them saying it will be processed under normal processing times.

Could you share what happened with your situation after? I made plans to go out of country for a wedding this summer and didn't think this lost green card fiasco would happen. I'm worried it won't be canceled fast enough for me to apply for another I-90 and get a stamp appointment. It's already been over a month since we sent in the cancellation request letter.

Husband threatening with deportation

I entered the US on a K1 visa. Got married 14 months ago and have had my conditional green card for 6 months.

Things with the husband are bad. He recently threatened suicide if I left him. I called 911 and he was put on 72 hour hold.

Since he's been out all we do is fight. I will be getting copies of the police reports.

However, tonight he said that if I divorce him he will call immigration and have me deported or would use a lawyer to do so. Our marriage was real so is it really that simple for him to do this?

I know I will need a waiver to remove conditions after a divorce.

Light US->Canada travel after naturalization interview (approved)

Hello.

My wife had her interview for the naturalization process (approved ) and I have a couple questions.

  • The questionnaire on page 3 - is that to be filled out in front of an official at the swearing in ceremony? Or it can be filled out on the day of before we get to the court house?
  • She intends to travel to Canada to visit her parents (not far from us) for less than a day and right back and then we'll be going back about a week after for maybe 1 night. We will mark box 2, yes we have traveled internationally - before the swearing in. Will that put her in jeopardy in any way? If not, how does that process work, when we have to explain any of those items if they are marked yes? We could attempt to provide some proof - namely, all I can really think of doing is using our NYS EX-Pass online records but that doesn't give a return date. Can we ask for something at both bridges on the way to and back?
  • How does the swearing in work? It says on the form that it's 2-3 hours long! Is that because they have to individually address every person 1 at a time and everyone in the room has to wait? I sure hope we can at least sit for this process (until they ask her to stand)!

Thanks!
