  1. Wow...8th year of trying to remove conditions? Do you just keep re-filing?
  2. Thank you. I am safe. He has never touched me. Just working on getting out of my situation now.
  3. He told the cops he did it to get a rise out of me. They were not impressed. His parents are 100% aware of the situation but are no help at all. I just know I can't stay in this situation anymore. I need to look out for myself as well.
  4. I entered the US on a K1 visa. Got married 14 months ago and have had my conditional green card for 6 months. Things with the husband are bad. He recently threatened suicide if I left him. I called 911 and he was put on 72 hour hold. Since he's been out all we do is fight. I will be getting copies of the police reports. However, tonight he said that if I divorce him he will call immigration and have me deported or would use a lawyer to do so. Our marriage was real so is it really that simple for him to do this? I know I will need a waiver to remove conditions after a divorce.
  5. Looking for some stories from people who have gotten divorced while on the conditional green card and were successful at removing the conditions without any problems. I have a solid list of evidence (leases, bank account, insurance docs, beneficiary, pictures....) but would love to know what others have provided as additional proof. There is no physical abuse or anything like that. We're just not a good fit for each other. He doesn't want to go to marriage counseling. We've been married 14 months and I've had the green card for 6 months.
  6. I have an email trail between him and my dad where my dad confronts him about his drinking and he denies he has a problem. Do you think i should include that?
  7. Thank you! Do you think it will raise any issues being that I've only had the green card for a few months?
  8. I entered the US on a K1. Got married in December 2021 and received my conditional green card in September 2022. Things have gone downhill (he is drinking more and we are constantly fighting) and I am considering filing for divorce. I know this will require a waiver and I will be using a lawyer. The marriage was bona-fide and I have the following documents as backup, but some bills only allowed us to put one name. Will this be enough proof? - 3 signed leases with both names - 2022 taxes filed jointly - joint bank account - joint health insurance - joint car insurance bill under his name but both names shown on both vehicle policies - credit card under my name with US spouse as the additional authorized user - electric bill with both names - internet bill with only US spouse name but me as an authorized admin on the account. - insurance policies listing each other as beneficiary - me listed as beneficiary on his 401k Given that we've been married only 16 months and I've only had a green card for 5 months, will there be any issues? Has anyone else had a similar issue and received the 10 year card without any issues?
  9. June 7 - Interview scheduled for July 21 June 30 - Interview cancelled June 30 - Case being reviewed. However, in the documents tab there was a NOID also dated June 30th. When I open the document it said Request for Evidence and was just asking for a copy of the marriage certificate. I had already sent this with the original application but I uploaded a copy again and also mailed it in. I never received a notice of interview cancelation in the mail but I called USCIS this morning and they confirmed it was cancelled.
  10. Exactly. In the documents tab, it said NOID. The actual attachment said RFE and all it was asking for was the marriage certificate. My post was about the interview being cancelled. Not so much the request for the MC.
  11. I got an RFE in December. I mailed them the response in February. I got the NOID on June 30th just asking for the MC. I uploaded that and I also mailed them a copy. (In my USCIS account, it says NOID but the actual document attachment says request for evidence)
  12. I called USCIS today. I am 100% allowed to and encouraged to upload the document to my account. I received the NOID and then upload the document. They confirmed that I did it correctly.
  13. Thanks! Hoping they waive the interview altogether now that it's been cancelled, but if not, we have a mountain of joint evidence to bring to the interview.
