Sold Canadian car in the US (split)

We sold our car to a Toyota dealership in Idaho yesterday!!! We were very clear about the importation situation, and it took a while to make it clear that we didn't have a separate piece of paper called title as American cars do, but they bought it for even more money than my husband had been promised as a Kelly blue book offer in Canada, and we traded it in for an American car. Problem solved! I'm mentioning it in case anybody has the same issue. It cost us a bit, but less than we expected, and at this stage, we just wanted to get it over with.

Can you try at an airport near you that has a POE to avoid the drive?

It would be nice, but no. I think it's the same thing as someone who is already in the US having to go back to the border to renew their visa (at least, that's how it works in Canada, I think). You can't have your car already in the US if you're trying to import it, and an airport parking lot is already in the US .

Here's the thread we had found on this topic some people have luck with the after-market TPMS system, but it appears most people don't:

At the interview (Montreal Consulate), I was issued a 221(g) white slip and my passport was returned to me on the spot.

The officer told me they had all the documents they needed and the white slip says: "Supplemental questions will be sent to you by email. Passport"

Also, the signature space was left blank by the officer.

I can't seem to get any info on what this means other than it could be anything

How long does it take to receive the e-mail?

We waited, and tried all that. It has been 7 months already. We kept calling USCIS to see if the card was returned but it was not. USPS investigated it and said it was their mistake because the temporary holiday postal workers mis-delivered it. The card actually arrived right before Christmas 2018, just not at our mailbox.
Even if we found the card now it wouldn't be valid because I had to go in for a re-do of the biometrics - so that card is outdated and invalid anyways.

Hi I know this is old but worth a shot. I'm in almost the exact same situation - temporary holiday postal worker put it in the wrong mailbox and I filed for I-90 under "never delivered". We were also told the same information that I need to file it under lost/stolen and pay the fee so I didn't get my stamp at my appointment. We've sent in a letter AND fax to cancel the existing I-90 under the advice of the clerk at my stamp appointment. Also contacted my state senator for assistance which was almost no help. USCIS responded to them saying it will be processed under normal processing times.

Could you share what happened with your situation after? I made plans to go out of country for a wedding this summer and didn't think this lost green card fiasco would happen. I'm worried it won't be canceled fast enough for me to apply for another I-90 and get a stamp appointment. It's already been over a month since we sent in the cancellation request letter.

Hello,

My husband is a US citizen and I am canadian. My son was born in Canada and we currently reside in Canada, and plan to do so for the foreseeable future. I would like to obtain US citizenship for my son. Do I file:

N-600K, Application for Citizenship and Issuance of Certificate Under Section 322

or

DS-2029 "APPLICATION FOR CONSULAR REPORT OF BIRTH ABROAD Estimated Burden: 60 minutes OF A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA"

My husband lived in the USA from birth to age 35. At 35, he moved to Toronto Canada

Thanks!

Husband threatening with deportation

I entered the US on a K1 visa. Got married 14 months ago and have had my conditional green card for 6 months.

Things with the husband are bad. He recently threatened suicide if I left him. I called 911 and he was put on 72 hour hold.

Since he's been out all we do is fight. I will be getting copies of the police reports.

However, tonight he said that if I divorce him he will call immigration and have me deported or would use a lawyer to do so. Our marriage was real so is it really that simple for him to do this?

I know I will need a waiver to remove conditions after a divorce.
