If my spouse is visiting the USA during the consulate I130 visa process, is she able to complete her biometrics and medical here or does it have to be completed in her home country?

Good morning Visajourney family,

I have a question that is not visa related but has to do with going back to Canada.

I am intending on going back to Canada to be closer to my children but am also going to be coming to Florida multiple times each year.

Is there any way that I can keep all of my insurance, etc in Florida instead of Canada?

To clarify, I am a dual Canada/USA citizen.

Thank you for your help.

What are options for AOS after being on a I-20 student visa? If you have been in your degree program almost 1-year and married to an american before starting the degree program. We are past the 90-day from entrance-current point in program. Planning to OPT after degree program ends.

Thank you for any insight.

Married in 2022- Filing Tax Q.

Hello,

Seeking some help here. I have tried googling with not much help/conflicting information.

We were married in Jan. 2022. I am the Canadian resident/my spouse is the U.S. Resident.

April 2022 myself and our son moved to the US on an I-20 as I am an international student down here.

In terms of filing our 2022 taxes (married but separately?) does my spouse only need the total of my income for the year to get their taxes done? I cannot file mine before the 2022 Canadian deadline due to awaiting a form from my current educational facility, but if they want to get theirs done ASAP do they just need my total income(?) - I have all my tax slips and know the #'s.

Thanks to anyone who. may be able to provide some insight!

“Emergency” health insurance for (pregnant) green card holders?

I got my green card and entered the US last week. We are working on getting health coverage (technically, we applied for a healthcare sharing ministry), but it will take at least three weeks to become effective (it would start on May 1).

I just learned that I had a missed miscarriage, i.e., the baby has unfortunately died, but my body hasn't realized it. The OBGYN recommended a D&C if it doesn't pass naturally within a few days, and the hospital told me it would cost at least $8,000, up to $25,000 if there are complications (although there is a 30% discount for people who are uninsured).

I m trying to see if there is any way I can get some kind of financial help with this procedure, I don't want to miss any program I didn't hear of. I called Medicaid, since they have a program called Presumptive Eligibility For Pregnant Women , but I don't qualify because of our income of the last year. They also have a program called Emergency Services for Non-Citizens, but you have to have been a permanent resident for at least 5 years. I will look into whether I am still covered by my (Canadian) provincial insurance plan, but I assume that since I am not traveling but rather moving here, I will not be covered. So I'm looking into US solutions.

Does anybody know of anything? Program, NGO, whatever? I understand that we might have to pay, and that it's what happens when you make such big life changes, but I wouldn't want to just be ignorant of something useful. The stress of the move and the sad situation (this is my 4th miscarriage in a row) kind of mess with my ability to think straight.

Thank you.
