Hello,

We have submitted all of our documentation to get my husband the I-130 but I recently went through the name changing process so that I could have his last name. Should I upload my documentation to USCIS with my new name change or will this slow anything down now that I have done this? He is the one who is applying for the I-130 I will be the sponsor. Just wanted to make sure there are not additional steps I should be doing.

Just to be clear on the terminology -- IF you are the US citizen, you are the I-130 petitioner and the I-864 primary sponsor.  Your husband is the beneficiary of the I-130 and the applicant for CR1/IR1 spouse visa.

As for your name change, no need to update the I-130 nor inform USCIS.  You should use your married name on your I-864, which must be submitted to NVC after your I-130 has been approved.  Your husband should also list your married name on the Spouse info section of his DS-260 form.
