I have a few questions about preparing for my interview and what to expect. I was DQ'ed Feb 17th, still waiting to hear when my interview will be. 1- Will the interview letter come through via email or physical post? 2- A few things like my current job and husbands phone number and current address have all changed since filling DS-260, should i be updating this in CAEC Account with NVC? 3- Does anyone have any experience with how long after you receive your interview letter it will take for the actual interview date? I have heard conflicting things.

Hello, We have submitted all of our documentation to get my husband the I-130 but I recently went through the name changing process so that I could have his last name. Should I upload my documentation to USCIS with my new name change or will this slow anything down now that I have done this? He is the one who is applying for the I-130 I will be the sponsor. Just wanted to make sure there are not additional steps I should be doing.

Hey Visa Journey! It's been a while but I'm at the stage where now being a U.S. citizen I'll be sponsoring my mother who lives in Canada for her Greencard. I'm well aware of the time frame it would take for her to become legal, roughly 12-13 months on average. My concern is for one of my sisters. She will be turning 18 this July. If my mom files an I-130 petition for my sister as soon as she is approved for her Greencard should my sister still qualify to not have aged out? I was going to put my mothers application in from last year but she wasn't ready to start the process. When exactly does the clock begin in this case? If the petition is submitted say when she is 19 or 20 what happens? Answers would be greatly appreciated!

My K-1 spouse and I are finalizing our I-751 submission and will hopefully mail it tomorrow. We had used the services of a professional immigration lawyer for the original K-1 process with mixed results. It was surprising how many things were overlooked by them. In any case, we're doing the I-751 ourselves and saving the $2,500 fee the lawyer wanted for it. Before sending things in tomorrow I just wanted to ask my fellow Visa Journey members a couple of questions that should be (hopefully) easy to answer. 1) Just to be sure.. the "Petitioner" on the I-751 form is the K-1 immigrant fianc e.. correct? Not me, the U.S. citizen. This is (I believe) a reversal of how things were on the K-1. 2) The I-751 filing fee is $595.00 and the Biometric fee is $85.00. My question is.. are they both to be sent in at this time with the I-751 submission?.. or just the $595 filing fee only. And if the answer is that both are sent now, should it be separate checks or just one check for $680.00. Thanks in advance for all replies. JM

Hello, I would like someone to help me with my sister's situation; her priority date just became current, but two of her daughters aged out, and their name is not on the welcome letter. Considering that my mom applied for her when the kids were under 21 years old, are the kids eligible for CSPA Act? I heard she could apply for them right after getting her green card with the same priority date she initially had; is this true? I would appreciate it if anyone could help me understand this process. Thank you
