I am a Canadian PR and US Lawful Permanent Resident. I currently live in the US. My PR card is expiring in Aug 2023 but I am sure I have maintained my Residency Obligation. I have travelled many times to Canada by land in the past few months and and been allowed entry and CBSA confirmed I met my Residency Obligation. I want to travel by Air to Canada in Oct 2023 to attend my Canadian citizenship oath ceremony. I know that as an LPR, green card plus non-Canadian passport is accepted to board a commercial plane to Canada. Source - https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1053 I also know that as a PR one must present one-self as a PR to CBSA when at immigration, and despite an expired PR card they will let you enter canada provided you meet Residency Obligations. Considering the above, does anyone see any issues with me flying to Canada given my expired Canadian PR card?

So, I am in the process of sending in all my documents (AoS, EAD, etc) and while I was working on the form for Advanced Parole so I can leave the country some concerns popped up. First: My husband and I have pre-booked flights from Canada to Mexico, initially planned for 2020 which, of course, had to be postponed. The group we are going with agreed on dates for this coming November (2023), while I was still in Canada awaiting approval to move to the US. Now I am here, and due to what I am reading I'm uncertain if I can travel for leisure. The form indicates humanitarian reasons. We'd only be away for 9 days but now I'm worried this won't get approved and it's getting close to too late to cancel our tickets. The second concern that arose is I had to leave some of my things at my previous residence in Canada and would like to be able to go collect them ASAP, would I not be able to do that either with an AP? How does this work? Am I just stuck in the US now until my status is adjusted? What are my options. Thanks!

Hopefully this isn't a completely dense question! I've been scouring this website looking for an answer but I'm still not entirely clear on what I need to do here. I'm filling out form I-485, in Part 8 #62 where it asks for size of household. I immigrated to the US from Canada under my, now, husband's sponsorship. Is this question in regards to the size of the household that's requiring sponsorship? Would it just be me or would it be me and my American husband? Do our two other roommates need to be considered in this count? (I assume not as they are not involved with our immigration process at all). I did look at the form instructions to see who should be included but it still doesn't specify if the American citizen and sponsor is to be counted. In that same vein, since I'm here on a K1 visa I don't have the ability to work so I am assuming the next question regarding annual household income would just be my husbands? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am a Canadian Citizen with an E3D visa that expires Aug 1, 2023 and an extended approval of status (E3S) until 2025. My husband is an Australian citizen with an E3 Visa and the same expiration but approval of extension until 2025. We own a home and work in Los Angeles with our 2 kids (one canadian and one American) and a baby on the way. I booked the soonest Visa appointment I could find in Canada but it is not until August 28, 2025 in Ottawa! We requested an expedited appointment in Vancouver for next week and were denied because of capacity limitations. This is my last chance to get back to see my family before our third baby arrives and my mother cannot travel here until next year as she has hit her 6 month limit in the US as a Canadian visitor. We were planning to return to Canada and update our visas but since that option has been denied I am trying to see if I can return to the US with the documents that I already have: a new Canadian passport (does not contain a hard copy E3D visa or any stamps as I lost my old passport), E-3S approved status until 2025, I94 and documentation showing our travel history in the US. If that doesnt work, what is the possibility of being denied entry as a temporary visitor from Canada to the US if I am traveling with my family who can re enter under their status? If I re enter as a visitor can we apply for new visas while in the US and ship our passports to Australia to get our visas processed? Any guidance here would be helpful. We have already lost the $630 in visa application fees as well as our families flight back to Canada should we not be able to return to the US.

Looking for some help. My USC wife and I live in Canada where I am employed but will not be employed immediately when we move to the USA. My wife is a stay at home mom and has a confirmed income of $0. My wife's dad lives in the USA and we will be moving in with him until we find a place. He has enough income to meet the requirements. So if my wife is the Sponsor and completes a i-864 with supporting documents (but has $0 income and we are not using assets for proof on income) does her dad just need to complete the i-864 as a Joint Sponsor and provide the required documents? I'm getting confused with the i-864a paper as well. Any help would be appreciated!
