Community SpotlightAbandoned AOS and now regret it
Mariammaria posted a topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports,
Please be nice, I know I made a mistake... But got my K1 approved and arrived in the US June 25, 2024 and applied for AOS February 25, 2025 -- then left the US (abandoned my AOS). Will I be banned for re-entry to the US -- even under a spouse visa?-

US Citizen with Foreign Fiancé: When and How to Get Married?
gandalf1989 posted a topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures,
I'm currently living and working in the United States. My fiancé currently lives in Japan. We have been dating for about 6 months, and we have met in person several times, but we are not yet married.
My fiancé will be visiting me in the United States on a tourist visa some time in March or April and staying for about 3 months. I want to file for a fiance/spouse visa asap -- what's next?-

N400: Admitted to Weed during Green Card (was it a crime I was not arrested for?)
Left Over posted a topic in US Citizenship General Discussion,
To start, marijuana is illegal in my country of origin. When I was applying for my green card I admitted to trying marijuana when I was in my 20's (I'm 49 now). I got my green card and have lived in the US for 5 years. I'm in the process of applying for citizenship. What answer should I give to the question: "Have you EVER committed, agreed to commit, asked someone else to commit, helped commit, or tried to commit a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested? Yes or No" given that I admitted to past marijuana use during the GC process?-

Fiancée threatened with deportation by customs agent after arriving at airport for false accusations. How concerned should we be?
deletedUser21321 posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports,
Firstly, I want to get some things clear because I know everyone will say this otherwise:
We are seeing an immigration attorney for consultation soon. We've already printed out several documents to prove that my fiancée is not coming here with the intent to live here for the future until they get the K-1 Visa... Now, Heres the actual story...- 53 replies
Fiance or Marriage Visa in 2025 ? Pros and cons?
KandB posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
I'm 23F 🇨🇿, my partner is 29M 🇺🇲
We want to get our visa going sometime this year and want to be together as soon as possible but we are still unsure which visa would serve us better. I'd like to get married in my home country but on the other side i wouldn't mind getting married paperwise in the US and waiting for my work permit and etc if it would allow us to be together faster and then save up for and have our dream wedding in my home country.
What do you think ? All of this is so overwhelming and confusing and we just want to do the right thing.
I asked the same question on reddit, so many people recommended me to go with fiance visa, two suggested marriage visa. I need more input and advice from experienced people. Thank you
Ps: is it possible to have dual citizenship so i don't lose one from my home country? How does that work ?- 31 replies
Recent Immigration DiscussionsMarriage-based green card, divorced - Do I need to bring a marriage certificate? 5:23 pm today

2 RepliesHi everyone! I wasn t able to find a clear answer in past threads, so hoping someone here can help.
I submitted my citizenship application online a couple of months ago and am currently waiting to be scheduled for the interview. I m applying under the 5-year rule I ve had my green card for over five years now.
My green card was marriage-based, but my spouse and I separated after about four years and have since divorced. I have a divorce decree on hand, but I m wondering if I ll need to bring my marriage certificate to the interview as well. I ve moved to another state since then, and requesting the certificate from the city clerk would be a bit of a hassle so I d prefer to avoid it if I can.
Does anyone know if this is typically required in my situation? Would really appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance!
Discrepancy between Birth Certificate and Passports for my parents middle names and birthdates 2:42 pm today

2 Replies1. My mothers middle name is listed as an initial 'M' on my birth certificate, but her full middle name ,"Macy" , appears on her U.S Passport and Auto Driver License. In addition, her birthdate was recorded incorrectly on my birth certificate as 01/12/1970, while the correct date, as reflected in all of her official documents, including the U.S Passport, is 01/13/1970 or 13 Jan 1970.
2. Neither my fathers middle name nor his initial appear on my birth certificate, where his name is listed simply as "Roger Rabbit". However, his full legal name, "Roger Maxwell Rabbit" appears on his U.S. passport and driver's license. The name used in this form reflects his correct and legal full name as recognized by all current official U.S. documents. Both of these are the issues as well as the responses I gave in the Additional Information section of form I-130. I've gotten advice to just remove these additional responses and not complicate it, so I wanted to know if this is normal or not, how to proceed, and if my explanation is thorough enough. Should I include copies of their passports for proof?

2 RepliesHi, we submitted our I-130 petition in March this year. As we didn't submit the petition online, we dnt have an online account.
Do we receive a letter in mail when our petition is approved? I believe it's not possible to link our petition to an online account as we filed the paper version instead of submitting it online
Also, another question. Our receipt notice said at the bottom "Potomac Service Center " but just below that the address of the Texas Service center....does that mean anything?
Many thanks for your help

3 RepliesHi, I submitted my K1 Visa first week of May and received a rejection on my packet. Upon looking at the NOA I-797C Form. It states, "application not fulley completed. One or more following fields were not completed:
Alien Fiance Family Name
Alien Fiance DOB
I was looking through the packet i submitted and realize it was missing 2 pages of Form I129-F. But as I looked through the packet even more, it was at the back of the packet. My question is does it really need to be in chronological order? I mean, yes its my mistake, not sure how it got in the back, I thought I doubled checked it. But are they really lazy to not check fully? Like if its delivered how it is, then they will just accept it as is? Curious if anyone has gone thru this situation, I thought it does not matter. It was only two pages that was out of placed for the form I129-F. They even time stamp everything so Im surprise they didnt caught it. Just curious if it happen to anyone? Kinda sucks I gotta resubmit it due to missing pages but its not missing its just placed at the back of the packet (I-129F).
