Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

Recent Immigration DiscussionsApply US citizenship. filing N400. Divorced and required to show financial support to my family 2:28 am today

1 RepliesI am applying US citizenship. filing N400.
here is my background info:
I came to US in 1992 with family. After i finished college and worked for a while, I left US and went back to Hong Kong in 2002.
I kept coming back to US every 5~6 months to keep my green card.
I came to US to settle down in 2019. I am still holding a green card. I have been working as software engineer till now.
I bought a house in California in 2021.
I married in Hong kong in 2012. have 2 kids. 10 and 7 years old.
Then i came to US in 5/2019, and my sister has been supporting my wife and kids financially since I left Hong Kong
I always go back to see them 3 times a year.
I am eligible to apply for citizenship.
but I divorced in Hong Kong and got a court order in 3/2024.
When I filed N400, it requires me to show court order and show that i am financially supporting my ex-wife and kids. I haven't sent them any money. So i will start wire-transferring $5000 every 2 months, starting form June 1, 2024.
I will file N400 again in Feb 2025. this way i will have some transaction record to show USCIS.
my court order only announced we are divorced, but it doesn't the detail of alimony. We didn't include this when we filed divorce because we trust each other. And my sister is willing to help.
my question is:
1) do you think the transactions record from 6/1/2024 till 2/2/2025 enough to show that i am supporting my family. There will be 6 transactions (6/1, 8/1, 10/1, 12/1, 2/1/2025)
2) my court order only announced that we are divorced, but didn't include detail of alimony. so is it ok if I show this transactions record?
Thanks

Question about the "PHOTOGRAPHS" requirement upload for Civil Documents on CEAC 11:45 pm yesterday

2 RepliesHi all,
I'm a bit confused about the "photographs" upload requirement on CEAC for Civil Documents requirements. It doesn't list the requirement here specifically https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html. Also on the confirmation page for the DS-260 it mentions the requirement for submitting photos, but only once a Visa Interview Appointment has been set.
My confusion lies in do I upload Visa Photos now and is that what they are asking for on the CEAC upload?
Here is the link the CEAC website gives me for the photos requirements: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos.html
Thank you all so much!

1 RepliesBeen getting conflicting information about or eligibility for our K1 visa. My fianc is from the Philippines and met her exhusband in Australia. He is an Indian. They got married in Australia the moved tot he Philippines and had there marriage recognized by the Philippine government, but did not marry in the Philippines. Things did not work out and after a few years they separated. They got a divorce in Australia and now we are trying to do a K1 visa to the USA for her. She keeps hearing that she can t get a K1 visa because her CENOMAR shows her still married but she has the official divorce from Australia. I am hearing that as long as she has the divorce paper that she will have no problems because she is free to marry in the eyes of the USA. We have our NO2 and the NVC has our case in transit to Manila. Does any one have history with this scenario or know how this works?

2 RepliesFive years, alot of paperwork and a few thousand dollars. My wife took her citizenship interview this week and passed. Now just an oath ceremony left and then citizenship for her and her daughter. Will be good to leave USICS behind. Keep it up the rest of you. There is an end in sight.
