All I know is that Cassie is a very nice person and I have seen her behave very nicely on VJ over the years. She has always mentioned how she does not like the use of the word retarded and has stated why, and she obviously needed to let off some steam about it. Some of us agree with her, and some don't. Cassie is a very mature woman IMO.

Stina is right -- I saw that word used one too many times and that morning I snapped a bit. Perhaps it was "tacky" or "too sensitive", but I will not apologize for it, because I sincerely hate that word, used flippantly, jokingly, or not.

This thread has been an interesting read. Can't say that I agree with everything I read, but hey, to each their own. I just hope that Keira will be able to go through life without ever hearing that word used against her.

Try not to let things like this bother you. A word that bothers me a lot is when people say Jew in a negative connotation. If they had said certain racially charged words about larger minority groups, then many people would come down on them. It really does piss me off though.
