DS230....RFE'd???

Still no luck with NVC. They insist for me to send another copy or else it will not get approved. If I have to wait for them to locate my documents, it will take me another year, so I won't do that either. They told me that they will send me the missing checklist to send with my new documents,. but I have informed them that I will send them my exact photocopy of the original packet I sent them before (...the one that they lost ). I will not even wait for that either.

NVC can't make any decisions on your application, they are just a clearing house. The beneficiary has a right to an interview and a formal decision (be it approval or 221(g) denial). The role of NVC is to try to handle some of the routine things about the application before the consulate has to deal with it, to reduce workload at the consulate and save valuable storage space.

I would try preparing a "translation" of the passport bio page to submit with it, even if this translation says the exact same things as the English text on the bio page (you'd be surprised to find the English may not match the foreign completely). At least it'll make them a little more happy...

Hi Rina,

I just read through the four pages of this thread! WOW! What incompetence! I don't believe they "lost it". I wonder how the NVC operates in comparison to the USCIS. I know that the USCIS employees are trained to carefully handle these documents. Remember, the contain extremely personal information. I can't believe how careless the NVC has been. I definitely smell foul play with this. You have been too careful in reviewing what you sent in as well as make copies of what was sent in. I pray everything gets straightened out sooner than later Rina.

@ Vylex- Alex, thanks pal for your help! I know you were there for me when I was getting my DS230 compiled and sent. I did everything I could to ensure it will not lead to this. what a tragic experience really!

@ Chris- I have made a plan already how to resolve this with them:

Plan A:

will send them the exact copy of my original packet; to be sent via Express Mail tomorrow morning

Got RFE checklist coversheet generated and printed out (done!)

Express Mail envelopes with label and return receipt ready and filled out

Plan B: (if plan A does not work)

Got the passport translated, although its already translated

Got new police certificates

Will use NVC's RFE checklist coversheet

Express Mail envelope with label and return receipt ready and filled out

Same basic rules for me:

the email I sent them when they asked me to resend my DS230 electronically will be included in the packet

made exact copy of the file I will be sending them

list of persons' names~ Supervisors and regular Reps with time and date have been noted on my Follow Up sheet with NVC.

A love letter signed by me (of course!)

Wouldn't hurt to mention in your cover letter and/or a post-it:

1. The passport bio page is already in English if you look more closely.
2. The missing police certificate is stapled to the one they have already.

Remember, this is also your chance to get a note through to the people who can look through your file.

Including a signed DS-2001 (even if it is just a FAX) in the RFE response might also get this thing out of NVC now.

Oh my goodness Rina! What a run around! I am praying and keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you! I sent you a PM too. Hope this gets resolved SOON! This is completely and utterly ridiculous!

Hi Rina,

Again, sorry to hear such mishap from NVC. We'll be praying that once and for all NVC completes it!! Oh, this the second week na for my wife's case as I hope to hear something later this week. Thanks for creating this forum for everyone who are all in the same situation as Rina....waiting for NVC's completion!! =

What would you do if you were asked to call them again on next Monday, October 15th to get status on the Supervisor's review? Get your calendar folks, that's one month and one day since the time my DS230 was entered in their system. I'll be dead by then...

You'll be alright Rina! My wife still racing against the clock to get the documents done and mail it back to NVC, once that is done, I guess we have to wait another 2 weeks for something to happen

It's been...

229 days since I mailed my I-130

139 days since I last visited the Philippines to see my husband and left my son under his care

75 days when NVC received and assigned a case#

24 days since NVC received my DS230

... and after 19 days, October 2nd just started reviewing it

... and until now, still reviewing it????

+7 days on Monday, October 15th to get status on Supervisor's review?

hang in there! don't stress to much. October 15 is not that far away...ilang tulog na lang i read a thread somewhere that after a while they tend to miraculously find the missing documents. i guess that's why there's a supervisor review going on...they need time to get their act together and somehow do some damage control for the erroneous office action they sent out. the missing documents will turn out pretty soon, you'll see. Rina, did you receive your RFE checklist in the snail mail? For me I need to go home this evening and find out! I hope it's there so I can compare what the operators have told me before my wife sends it tomorrow God willing!
