OMG the horror is over! (at least for this step, I'm sure there will be issues later because nothing in this whole process has gone smooth yet)

Anyway, I just called NVC, and after I gave them my WAC number, instead of the operator repeating it back to me like they have always done, he started asking questions! So I knew they had it! I was so surprised and excited and relieved and giddy that I almost didn't remember Liberty's birthday when he asked

It looks like I'm another one that came in on the Nov. 2nd truck. He said they got it Friday. Gave me my MNL number and that was it! C'mon USE give us a quick interview date pleeeeeeease B)

To those of you still waiting.... hang in there, I thought this day would never come.

Now to update my timeline....

I just called NVC today, and the very nice lady said that they received my file Nov 2nd. Then she put me on hold, and confirmed the received date, said to call back next week for further status and advised the file transfer to my Consulate could take 2-4 weeks. I'm lucky (and very satisfied) the receiver of my call was pleasant ~smiling of course.

just an update: i called NVC and my case STILLLLLLl has NOT arrived!!!!!!! what a bummer!!! approved on Oct 10!!!!!!!!!!

where is my case?? worreid its in some damn back room collecting dust!

I called USCIS today and was told my petition is still in the staging area to be shipped to NVC. I got a touch on Nov.1st but the customer rep. could not give me any reason as to why.

GoharRabia, I am thinking maybe your petition is still in the staging area also, along with mine and U2rsobad.

Try calling USCIS and see if they shipped yours out yet. We have already seen that USCIS does not seem to care about first in being first out.

Guys, calling the 1-800 USCIS number is a waste of time unless you do the RFE trick to get transfered to CSC. The main customer service operators in the call center will just read a script to you and as we have probably all experienced most of them are incredibly rude. You have to go through the menu as if you are replying to an RFE. Then if all goes well you will hear a recording telling you that you are being transfered to the dept. of homeland security something or other and it will say california service center. When you hear that you know you are in the right spot. Then just wait for them to answer. IF no one is available at that time it will kick you back to the USCIS main line (it will tell you if that happens) and at that point just hang up and try again later. From what I experienced and what others have indicated, CSC folks are pretty helpful. They will look for your file or at least tell you where it is, and a few members have gotten call backs even with good information. If anyone needs it I have the telephone menu tree you need to dial through to get you there, i can post it if anyone would like. Also, don't worry if you don't really have an RFE, they will just ask you for your WAC number and then ask how they can help you, you don't even need to mention the letters RFE just ask them why NVC hasn't received your petition yet.

I got through pretty fast!!!!!! called at 8:05 AM (Cali time), probaby one of the first callers if they open the phone lines at 8AM.

Got some "GOOD" news (if you can call it that) and BAD news...

The GOOD -- CSC "says" they mailed the petition on OCT 23

The BAD -- NVC "says" yesterda Nov. 05 they have NOT received the petition!!!

I asked her if she was sure it left that day, and she said yes, not sure if there are any other questions I could ask her to verify it? I could do what others have done and call back the next day and hope a the same answer. Any helpful hints?

Question: What should I do now? (just wait?) Any helpful ideas??

Thanks!
