Kristi Noem ousted from Homeland Security post amid recent turmoil

She actually wasn’t too bad as a DHS secretary, it was all the influencer actions and speak that was not a good look.  I wonder if this was a deal to get the Congress off its collective rears and fund DHS.  I do like Mullins as the new pick, Fetterman already endorsed him.

 

Kristi Noem ousted from Homeland Security post amid recent turmoil

Kristi Noem, the former South Dakota congresswoman and governor who has led President Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security thus far in his second term, was ousted from her position on Wednesday.

 

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he will nominate Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., to replace Noem, effective March 31.

 

"The current Secretary, Kristi Noem, who has served us well, and has had numerous and spectacular results (especially on the Border!), will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida. I thank Kristi for her service at ‘Homeland.’"

I think so.  Dems refusing to fund DHS was a real bone-headed move in my book after the dems and Biden flooded our country with unvetted illegals.  I hope Mullins keeps up the pressure to deport  illegals.

I think the problem was yesterday, in which she was eviscerated during a public hearing and could not deny many of the accusations against her.

During that hearing she claimed the president told her to do something or signed off on a large sum of money. The president says he did not do this. So the bigger issue is, has she perjured herself before congress by lying about the president or is the president lying?

 

If she's going to now be the 'fall guy' for infidelity and behavior unbecoming, what about the person she's having an affair with?

I don't think there was a single Republican that was happy with her answers. And surely you have also heard about her on-going affair with a person currently still employed by the WH?

I think it's both reasons -- first, rid the Cabinet of someone with no common sense about lavish spending or public-relations concerns, and second, get the Senate off its nonfunding butt.  Confirmation of a sitting Senator to a Cabinet position is usually rapid and straightforward -- e.g., Rubio was confirmed as SecState unanimously.  The Senate should now also agree to fund DHS again.

 

Charles, Noem was rumored to be fooling around with Corey Lewandoski, presidential advisor, who (I think I heard) was Noem's #2 or at that level.  She didn't say "No, I didn't" in the Senate hearing.  She also might have lied to Congress about her lavish ad campaign, starring her lovely self.  As Pooky says, Lewandoski is said to be on his way out, too.

 

As foxy as she is to look at, what happened is for the best.

 

Honestly, I'd have thought that the (at best) underachieving Pam Bondi would have been canned first.

Thing is she's not quite.... out and neither is he apparently? She's just being put out to pasture in some other 'job'. The bogus grifty gift contracts to their friends Congress is trying to probe about are still in place too. So the grift will continue on the taxpayer dollar. Corey is.... quite simply a terrible person, and people have known this for years.

 

As for Bondi, I hear rumblings she's next.

Yep; March 31.  The other "job" is something new that I'd not heard of, but it sounds sufficiently obscure to keep her out of sight while enabling her to retain a shred of dignity for not being ejected outright on her butt on the street.

Should've happened long before now.  I can't name one accomplishment of hers, substantial or otherwise.  I'd like to see Harmeet Dhillon in there.

But that's the thing though... how is this guy talented exactly? He's ruthless and scuzzy. He's a serial adulterer (as several of them are in the admin). His expertise is threats and swinging. There's quite a few of these types in politics.. like Schlapp is one of them too. What happened to honesty and integrity and ethics? That's what makes a good and talented man.

 

As for Bondi's potential replacement... I've heard Paxton is being floated... but there we go again, another scandal prone adulterer. The sleaze is what kicked quite a few republicans out of my heavy red leaning town. We didn't care about the R next to their names, we were absolutely sick of the affairs, lying, and corruption.

having looked into it, i'm not finding anything concrete and said accusations date back to around 2021 - surely something solid would have surfaced by now.
