Hello,
I am kind of stuck with a situation so I wanted to ask here since we've done the k1 files ourselves.
I am the beneficiary so my partner didn't file his taxes for the last year but he is planning to ,Also he got paid in cash last year so it might be trickier to file his taxes etc.I am done with our file and want to submit it but can't predict the outcome of this situation because i dont want to get denied.He filed taxes all his life,filed the 2023 year last and 2024 not yet and he says he is not sure if he can get tax returns for 2024 since if us doesn't accept his cash payments as a proof for tax purposes etc. Right now he re-instated his company as of last week and will start to get the payments officially.You think that can hurt our case or what can we do to support his financial status when the interview time has come?He doesn't have a real estate propert but he has a car,and normally he makes around 80-90k annually but can't prove that because of taxes etc.Please help me I dont want to go this path only to get rejected any help is appreciated.We don't have anyone to sponsor us by the way so that is not an option.Thank you for your time

If he was being paid cash and making 80-90K he needs to talk to a tax professional now.  Yes the IRS does want cash income reported too. Sooner he fixes his 2024 taxes the better. 

Luckily it will take more than a year to get to the interview stage where he will need to show his income. Go ahead and get started on the process, by the time you interview they will most likely be looking at 2025 taxes.

I agree. It can be done and taken care of.

AOS RFIE: Sept. 28 - got in mail by Oct 3. [They lost my Husband's Birth Certificate] - Sent back AOS RFIE: Oct 16 2019, at office by Oct 17.
AOS Case update notice on April 9th, 2020, waiting for mail. - Interview date: Scheduled as of July 15, date is August 19. Passed the interview!

My Husband got his GC! 2 Year Conditional Green Card expires 08/19/2022, Residence since 08/19/2020

ROC Process [2022-2024]

Got letter in mail for extension: April 12th, Received date June 21, 2022, Notice date: April 5, 2023 = 48 Months Extension. No physical card yet.
Approved without interview as of Feb 15th, 2024. Was not a combo interview with N-400.

Naturalization N-400 [2023-2024]

Service Center: NBC, application # starts with IOE#.
Biometrics waived. Got NOA mail Jan 5, 2024 says Interview in Nashville, TN on Feb 6, 2024.
Queue for review and approval. Already in line for Oath Ceremony as of Feb 13th, 2024.
NOA as of 4/29/24 - Oath Ceremony scheduled for May 30th in Chattanooga, TN. Rescheduled as of May 2nd, 2024 by USCIS - new date is May 29th.
May 29th - Naturalized! Ta-da!
