I had my interview yesterday (I passed!!! yaaay!) and wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone!

08/16 -Submitted N-400

12/01 - Received interview letter for 01/05

01/05 - Had my interview in Norfolk, VA

I had a pending I-751 so I went with my spouse to the interview (even though the letter didn't mention anything about it being a combo interview). The guard at the door didn't let my spouse come in with me, he told me to tell the officer upstairs that I have a pending Removal of conditions and that if my spouse was needed I could call her on her cellphone and they would let her in.
I checked in and went upstairs and after 40 mins or so I was called by the officer. After I was sworn in, I told him about my pending case and he asked me for proof from after the naturalization submission and then asked me how we met. Then he told me that we wouldn´t need my spouse at all and that we were going to proceed with the civic test. Passed the 6 questions, moved to the english and reading and then reviewed my application with him. After that he said congratulations, I was recommended for approval and that I would receive a notification regarding my oath within 2 weeks. He also gave a paper that said Congratulations, you are recommended for approval...

My cases have not been updated yet (I've been refreshing my email constantly haha).

It feels soooooo good and so much closer to the finish life! Good luck everyone!

We are also Norfolk. Filed a week after you and also a combo case. No word on any interview letter yet. Hopefully soon. Is it a case by case basis if they let a spouse in or not?

I guess so? I can only speak from my experience but if you have a pending I-751 I would recommend to bring your spouse even if your letter doesn´t say that it´s a combo interview. You never know what the officer is gonna say. Good luck!

I received an update for both of my cases today. The I-751 is showing case approved and the N-400 "Oath ceremony will be scheduled". One step closer!

The end is in sight.  A satisfying side benefit is filling in that final box of our VJ timeline.  :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Well I attended my combo interview. They did not let my wife past security when he looked at my interview letter even though I told them it was a combo interview. It's a good job I took more evidence on advice of this forum because at first he said there was a problem as my i-751 was still pending and they need further evidence. I told him my wife is in the parking lot and does he need her to come up because they wouldn't let her up! He sent me back to the waiting room for 5 minutes and called me back. Eventually after looking through my evidence and asking me questions he proceeded to the N-400 questions and tests. After my heart sank initially he gave me the news I am approved and to wait for a letter for the oath ceremony!! I am so relieved!!

No update for us yet. Filed 8/22. Hoping to get interview notice soon. My husband still has a pending I-751, so I assume it will be a combo interview when it is scheduled.

I thought by now would have heard something. Maybe by the end of the month.

Filed 08/21, no updates yet. Last updated at 01/07, previously that was 10/30.

Being an immigrant from one of those countries on the new USCIS PM-602-0194 partial restriction list, I'm expecting this process to take longer since there are additional review requirements and longer background checks.

Right now, I don't even see the case progress section for now. Hoping for best and wishing everyone still waiting the best as well.

MyProgress can be ignored. It showed 3 weeks until decision on day of my oath. Many do not see it now, it is just broken. Your case is still being processed.

No update on N-400 as of yet, but my husbands I-751 was approved today! Hopefully his N-400 moves along quicker at this point, but we’ll just continue waiting patiently for those emails that show an action has been taken on his case…
