Let's get the May 2025 party started!

LPR wife just filed her N-400 application and I fed her all the evidence docs. On USCIS we got the receipt number and oddly it says "error retrieving case status" (its ALWAYS something, lol)

Checked egov.uscis and it says "case was received and receipt notice was sent"

Hopefully the error resolves on their end tomorrow... and that biometrics gets reused.

Error is gone, read the receipt notice. Seems they will not reuse biometrics :(

Excerpt from the receipt notice:

We will schedule you for an appointment at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for you to provide your fingerprints, photograph and/or signature.

We will mail you a separate biometrics appointment notice with the specific date, time, and ASC location. Please wait until you receive your appointment notice before going to the ASC.

I also see an "Upload Evidence" button under unsolicited evidence that seems to allow us to upload additional files to the application. Maybe we can upload our corrected deed there when we get it.

Not sure if I should be in this thread or the April one because I filed April 30 in the evening, but USCIS showed May 1 filing, so I guess will go here:

Submitted N400 (I-751 pending). Got biometric reuse and receipt notice immediately.

MyUSCIS tracker which I know is inaccurate shows 4 months till decision.

If i was you, I would join both April and May threads. The more posts you read of others, the more you know what to expect.

I had spent months reading VJ posts before I joined VJ and had the confidence to file our own visa process.

Just had an update on my case - Biometrics appointment scheduled…. Was hoping I’d be lucky to have mine reused as they’re only a few years old, but oh well, at least me and hubby can have a day out in the city!

same, bio was scheduled according to egov. Which was fast. Don’t know the date, will have to log into myuscis and check. It does say if we haven’t received the mailed notice by june 8, request it online. So it must be soon after that date

Mine said 7 months initially and 3 weeks until decision on day of my oath.

Entire process took about 3.5 months. But I applied under 5 year rule and I-751 was approved a while back.

Good luck!

Thanks and thats awesome! Hopefully its smooth

Which is probably not going to happen.

My initial estimate was 7 months, case took 3.5 months. Estimate on day of my oath was 3 weeks until decision.

In short, this estimate cannot be trusted.

Thank you for the information.

Hey All,

I'll be a May 2025 filer with I751 still pending since June 1, 2024 (good for 48 months). I started to file but left it on draft and will not continue until I get caught up on our taxes (Appt is May 20th with Accountant) then I will file. I didn't complete it since I didn't want to answer YES or NO to the question about taxes just yet. But I will resume after the 20th and I'll still be within 30 days of the online application.

Here are my questions...

1. I read in the April thread that its a good idea to send a letter to the my service center and remind them that I am still pending for I751 and that we request a combo interview for both I751 and N400. When should I actually SEND that letter? After I have hit submit to my online application?

2. My husband and beneficiary, was injured while on the job with Amazon. He was encouraged from Amazon HR (I have email proof) that he needs to get on temporary short term disability with EDD while his workers comp case is ready to pay out. He did just that and it was temporary until workers comp kicked in, which it eventually did, and then it took over and paid for 2 years while he was injured and getting treatment.  Eventually his case closed and he got better and then my husband and I opened up our own business so he is now self employed. Any issues with the part about him being on short term disability with the state or workers comp?

3. My husband is younger than me by 13 years. Any issues at the interview over this you think? We have tons of evidence on our bonafide relationship anyways and we are buying a house this year and starting IVF treatment and planning on bringing that proof.

Thank you all
