Hello! So I am quite confused, I received the NOA2 on July 31st after 68 short days of waiting. I also received my letter on August 3rd of my approval. However, I have seen that others receive notifications saying that their visa has been sent to the Department of State while I have not received it even though the letter says it has been sent to the NVC. How long does it take for USCIS to send cases to the NVC? I assumed they would do it immediately after approving it but I have yet to receive a notification saying that they have sent it.

USCIS only sends cases to the NVC every 2 weeks. so if your case was approved the day after they just sent a batch, your case wouldn't get sent for another 2 weeks. you wont get another letter saying your case has actually been sent.

you can usually submit an inquiry to the NVC about 30-60 days after your case is sent.

you can check if your case has been sent to the NVC with the USCIS case tracker

https://egov.uscis.gov/

or if you have a USCIS account and connected the case to your account, you can check there.

Mine took almost a month to be at NVC...but this was back in 2023📅

➡️NOA2: 30 August 2023

➡️At NVC/Case number: 25 September 2023

➡️In Transit: 11 October 2023

If you want to know if the NVC has your case, send them an "Inquiry form" asking about your case and also your case number Attach a photo of your NOA2 letter also📷

Ours was approved 5th of june, and I think it got send to the NVC 2 weeks later? Not sure anymore. I send an inquiry on July 6th, which felt a bit soon, but I got a reply on the 8th with my NVC case number and then I could trace it easier!! It ended up arriving at the embassy mid/end of July.

I just checked. The letter got sent from the NVC at the 16th of July. It arrived here last week, like the 4th of August.

Hello Aly,

thank you for sharing your immigration journey! The U.S. immigration process is vague and confusing, not just for you. USCIS will immediately process the case after they approval, but it will depend on how long the NVC confirms and responds to the case. The NVC response cases is different to one another. Mind took 3 months and 21 days after USCIS approval and sent the case. During the waiting time for my wife’s case, I spoke to 2 times the USCIS and they confirmed to me they sent the case immediately after they approved. Also, I sent the two inquiries to NVC asking  what’s going on not to confirming  the case received and they said after USCIS   approving sent the case to NVC it will take more than 30 days to process and respond, however they sent me the confirmation after 3 months and 21 days. My wife case DQ on 1/4/2024 and I’m still waiting NVC to schedule  an interview appointment.

Mine was changed to "sent" in the USCIS portal two weeks after NOA2. The case was sent to the embassy nearly five weeks after NOA2.

The case was created around week four after NOA2, but I was never able to get the case number via inquiry. I found out I had a case number when they sent me the NVC letter via email, stating it had been sent to the embassy. My fiance received the physical letter in the mail at the same time he got the letter from the embassy about scheduling, which was about 2 weeks after it had been sent and ready at the embassy (and we had already scheduled medical and interview).

This was June/July of this year.
