Congratulations to all and thank you so much everyone for sharing your valuable experience and information here. Wish you all the very best in the future too.

I don’t want to bring anyone down, but it has been 8 days since my interview and I still continue to wait while my status still says “interview scheduled”.

I talked to my lawyer and she said since my i751 case was approved and I had an unconditional GC they dont even need my file. Lol. I hope they dont keep waiting for something that will never show up. 🤣 i am trying to keep my spirits up and not feel depressed, but it is quite a challenge. I am squeaky clean no arrests, not even a single parking ticket in 10 yrs. Dont know what I am being punished for. I will keep you all posted.

I think the days of the same day oath are gone now, at least at Irving, although the Oath ceremony up in Plano was great, it felt more like a big party there in the Events Center, there was a few other Brits that stood up when I was there on the 31st

I had my interview today. Went smooth, had applied for citizenship after my 10 year green card expired. I was selected to have oath on same day at the office. So came back in afternoon and took oath along with 3 other folks. No idea what criteria is for same day oath, other than the  interview has to be completed before 11 am.

So total time from application took less than 9 months.

Hey guys. I been away from visa journey for a while and super rusty on all the lingo and stuff. In fact had to create a new profile because could not find my old one. I have a question filed my N-400 and have bio appointment 15th November.  What do i need to bring? How long does it take? does my wife need to go ?

I came on K1visa in 2009, my n400 filed under 5 year option as a permanent resident instead of the 3 year married option. So does that mean the requirements to prove im still married have gone? ( i am still married to her ) lol

Thanks in advance

You can go by yourself to get your biometrics done. No need for your wife to go with you.

You don't need to prove that you are still with ever even though you are lol

Good luck!

Did u use a third party service like “ Rush my passport “ or just apply through post office. How much time did it take.

I am back so that i can provide hope to someone who may be in the same boat as I was and is feeling depressed to the core.

i heard back from my IO yesterday. She called me to tell me that she just received my i751 file and she updated my case and scheduled me for the next available oath and wanted to see if i will be available next Thursday Nov 14th.
She said she was feeling really bad and as soon as she got my file she updated my status right away. I was ecstatic.
i had lost all hope in USCIS, but this IO proves that there are still good people. Instead of letting my file collect dust she was proactive to keep my case flowing.
Thanks to everyone on this forum for all your help.

I applied on Feb 4th 2019

Interview was on October 24th 2019 at the Irving office

Oath is on November 14th 2019 at the Plano Events Cent

I had my interview today. My wife whom had just had a baby 6days ago was only discharged yesterday and she came with me while our daughter is still in the NICU (she came early).

officer walked us in 10:20am.

we took oath and luckily he had my I-751 with N400 on his table.

we went through the I-751 as he asked my wife questions:

what is your husband’s full name?

what is his birthday?

where do you live?

He then turned to me and ask:

what is your wife’s full name?

he went further to make some unnecessary comments and he seem to just bounce all over and not so coherent in my opinion.
we moved on to the N400 gave my wife the courtesy to stay as she is still in many pains.

He asked me the following:

who signs bill into Law?

name a state that borders Canada?

who is the first US President?

What does the executive branch do?

when is the last day to file taxes?

2 others questions  I could not recall.

he went ahead after another round of bouncing all over to ask me “the many by the book” questions about arrest, terrorism, and all that.

Bingo!!! he said he will approve the I-751 this afternoon and for the N400 we also got approved. he said 4-6 weeks I should get oath letter.  My fingerprints were taken again and I was asked if I am changing names which I said No.

we checked out 11:10am

30minutes after my N400 status changed to oath scheduled.

STAGE 4: Removal of Conditions

03/19/18: I-751 mailed - Vermont Service Center

03/22/18: I-751 delivered to Vermont Service Center
