Divorce before green card was issued

I was in the process of bringing my ex wife to the u.s a couple of years ago but things didn’t work out. We decided to stop before the interview process. She recently contacted me and asked if I said anything to ucis when we stopped. She was wondering because she wants to remarry again soon.

Yup. We just finished w the divorce paperwork last month when I went to Vietnam

We didn’t do the interview. Yeh the company that did the paperwork for us informed them but I had to write a statement to uscis stating why it didn’t work out

Did you receive an acknowledgement that USCIS received the divorce decree? You want to make sure they did, because if they did not, and somehow her green card is approved, you might be on the hook for the I-864.

 

And yes, she will for sure have issues when trying to get a green card through her new boo, but that's her issue, not yours. Cut your ties lose.

I do t think it will get approved. I never sent in my w2 documents but either way I’ll make sure.  Yeh I Was trying to help out but yeh I’ll cut ties.

She has a new beau and is worried about what he said about her when he pulled their case.

I doubt he pulled their case… if he’s not sure he filed an i-864.
