Gone through there many times...you'll be able to do it. You have to take the tram from one side of the airport to the other side to catch your departing flight. Don't hesitate to ask for help either! Good luck! ;)

I have gone from 5 to 1 in 1.5 hours, but any delays can kill any chance of making a connection. ORD is one big airport.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

And how long time this train goes from terminal 1 to terminal 5. Will I get stuck in costumers? I have my GC thought, but, what do they check me getting out from USA? I am so worried.

I tried to look for their arrival and departure list, but I could't find any what shows average delays and if planes come in it shows just landed, not how much its late.

My flight is in 8 pm, maybe wont be so crowded anymore.

just get on the ATS (train) and ride it to terminal 5. 1.5 hours is plenty.

Once you're on the tram system, it takes maybe 10 minutes tops (probably less) to get from Terminal 1 to Terminal 5 and vice-versa. However, as people said, delays can cause problems. A lot depends on what time you fly. My husband's flights have always been on time or early, but he has also always come in mid-day on a Sunday. Good luck!

You should be fine, typically US airlines do not close the door at the gate until 3 minutes before departure.

You won't see customs or passport control at all departing the US, just coming back. They will take your I94 from your passport if you aren't as USC/Resident (airline does this).

Thanks!

These 10 minutes made me happy.

I realize I am among the minority with this, but I love O'hare. For as many people as it pushes through in a day, I think its efficient. It takes very little time to physically get from terminal to terminal, thanks to the train.

Delays are another matter entirely (and have nothing to do with the airport's actual efficiency).

My fiance made it through immigration and customs, changed terminals, went back through security and was to his connecting gate in just over an hour. It can be done - but it depends on a LOT of different factors (most of which are out of your control). I'd rather be safe than sorry and book more time in between if you can. But, if you can't, you may make it anyway - or as has been mentioned here, your connecting flight may be delayed.
