How long does it take for NVC to enter your data into their system? NVC received our petition on June 24th 2023, but we still don't have our case number. Just want to know if this is normal.

Our I-130 was approved 6/27 and on 7/2 the NVC case and Invoice ID number were available. We both received an email the same day with the information.

Hi everyone, 

I have a question. How long does it typically take to receive the welcome letter? We received our case number on July 25th through public inquiry. We don't have our invoice number. Our current CEAC status shows 'At NVC'.

Have u asked and received response from South Korea that they will accept the transfer?

this is important to even know what is going on

if you changed your mind and will interview in South Africa,  let the V J commuity know so you'll get the best answers

Yes. I've sent all relevant documents to the embassy regarding the embassy change. The said I should directly submit my transfer request to the NVC, which I did and they changed our case number to the U.S. embassy in Seoul. Our case is now processing electronically. I just wanted to know how long it will take for us to receive our welcome letter.

K1 applicants do not receive a welcome letter from NVC.

Okay? The embassy. How long does it usually take?

After the case is received at the consulate … and some consulates don’t send welcome letters since it’s self schedule.

As mentioned above, NVC does not send welcome letter for K1.  Also, invoice ID is only for immigrant visa cases that need to login to CEAC, like spouse visa.  Not K1, as K1 cases do not need to login to CEAC.  K1 only needs NVC case number to check status on CEAC.
