manila - taipei- sfo- seattle

Any reason you picked this route with the layover at SFO?  EVA Air has direct flights from Taipei to Seattle, so you could book MNL -> TPE -> SEA.  SEA would be your fiancee's POE.

thanks for the question.  there are about 3 airlines that I picked. eva air, korean and asiana that have reasonable airfare.  evair makes the cut for the least expensive one way airfare for October.

Im open for suggestions.

FYI. we just got our case number. not yet in transit.  CFO seminar is done.

As @JeanneAdil just commented, she'll go through customs at her point of entry, which should be San Francisco.

So it is very important that there is enough time between the arrival and departure flights in order to avoid missing the flight to Seattle.

there are  several flights  from sfo to seattle through out the day. worst case  scenario, hopefully the airline would book her in the next available flight. Last resort  would be is, I fly there to meet her so  I can give her an assistance and get a hotel and try the next day.

Wait times to clear customs in SFO vary from 17 minutes to 90 minutes depending on time of day.  Since she is an arriving K1 she will likely be directed to secondary inspection which will significantly add time to her ability to get through the immigration process.  Then she must collect her baggage, clear customs, recheck her bags, change terminals, clear security again, find her gate.  Not a recipe for success in an hours time.  That's why i always try to have my last stop in my itinerary be my first stop in country and therefore my POE.

The good thing is she wont have a check in luggage, just a carry on so she will save time by not going to baggage claim. Im expecting her to clear the custom for up to 2 hrs.

but what happens if her lay over is less than 1hr. she has a chance of missing her flight?

from time of plane landing (time of flight u see)  it takes 20 or more minutes to taxi in

then time to depart the plane

then to reach the customs agent from long line and if that is ok with no extra questions,  she will be making a long walk from international terminal to her domestic flight

i always allow 3 hours

following is layout of SF airport

Korean Air comes up $583 one-way MNL-ICN-SEA a bunch of dates in October.  In today's airfare market I don't think you could do to much better than that.   I would really try hard to avoid an unnecessary domestic connection just make things easy on your fiancée.  I'm sure it's stressful enough by itself.
