Kinda random, but anyway: why the hell are social security cards, a document you're expected to keep for your WHOLE LIFE, just a piece of thick-ish paper, whereas the EAD card looks like a sturdy credit card with I don't know how many anti-counterfeiting gadgets, and yet you don't usually don't have a use for it for more than a handful of months?

I was discussing that with my wife & friends the other day and we can't figure it out.

Sometimes I wonder about the US government...

I guess it says you're supposed to carry your EAD card with you at all times so it better be somewhat resistant to damage, but still... (and I'm not gonna be carrying mine around at all anyway)

2005-04-14: met online

2005-09-03: met in person

2007-02-26: filed for K-1

2007-03-19: K-1 approved

2007-06-11: K-1 in hand

2007-07-03: arrived in USA

2007-07-21: got married, yay!

2007-07-28: applied for green card

2008-02-19: conditional green card in hand

Interesting, just checked my AOS online (2nd time today) and this showed up!!

I think we are being processed by the same bloke, Tonyeck..lol

I think some cases get passed back to a local office if they believe an interview is necessary.

It could be a while there, judging from peoples experiences of name checks etc, Im just glad Ive got my EAD so

I can have some sort of normal life. Im not too bothered about visiting ol' blighty just yet..

Hello! Just wanted to share the good news. I got an email this morning saying they mailed my EAD card and I also received AOS interview notice in the mail today! Our appointment is scheduled for Wednesday, November 21st at 12:45 in San Francisco. Hopefully everything will go well and we can be *thankful* the following day... which is the Thanksgiving Thursday! :)

Hi! Got an email today saying my EAD Approval notice has been mailed...where is the EAD card???

And then I check the regular mail and what do I see...my AOS interview letter ..yeah!!!! My interview is on Dec 4 at 8 am at San Jose....The online stauts stills shows old status of receiving the RFE reply.....

Now the 'big file' preparation begins....I am so happy :D

It looks like some cases are moving along now. :thumbs: Still no update on my case online and I'm getting tired of looking out in the mail for an official letter from our dear friend "DHS". Hopefully, I will receive my interview appointment letter before the month ends. And I thought our local office is not that swamped with applications... ;) I guess I thought wrong. Oh well... :whistle:

I just received a email saying EAD card production ordered, approx 77 days from their official received date. Now I just have to hope I get it soon enough. Updates in timeline. Thanks for updating.

July 20: Mailed I-130 for both parents.

July 22: NOA 1 Priority Date

July 28: Received NOA1 in mail.

I also had a tax RFE I received it on Sept 7th mailed all the info the following week had my wife's bio's done on Oct. 5th and still have not heard anything regarding them receiving my RFE info are status on my case? any advice? Thanks Dynamo Dean
