I am always amused by climate change alarmists here in Arizona  who assert that they will escape before it gets too hot and move up north.  These are are the same climate change alarmists who assert that the colder winter weather is because of climate change.

Climate changists like to shame people who run the A/C, use golf courses built  on the desert watered with recycled water, have a back yard pool, etc.  

 

The only reason North America north of the Rio Grande has civilization is because Europeans sailed  over and brought technology and  domesticated animals. 
 

High Technology like: coal mining (cuz it’s too cold here) bricks and cement (cuz anything else in the 16th century gets mowed down by tornadoes and hurricanes), bullets (cuz it takes a while to establish agriculture in a wild frontier so eat wild animals), steel (because wood rots).  

 

The previous inhabitants killed off the horses. Llamas and alpacas aren’t exactly  going to sustain mixed agriculture like sheep, hogs, and cattle.  
 

The original inhabitants did try and you can read about the Mound civilizations. But the wind and cold just flattened them.

So looking at this holistically, reflecting more sunlight away will reduce the amount of solar energy available for the all so important solar generating stations, and cooling the planet may have a more adverse effect such as more people dying from the cold as discussed elsewhere, and growing glaciers.  As an aside, I had this discussion with a collogue several years ago and asked him what would be done if the glaciers started to advance toward populated areas.  His response is we could seed the glaciers with activated carbon to promote melting.
