VISA approved - No Sealed Packet because it's digitized?

Asking for a friend here. They recently had their VISA interview and the CO gave a verbal approval. The CO also said no sealed envelope will be given anymore because everything is digitized and CPB will look up the application.

 

I have not read about this anywhere. Is it accurate?

Yes it is accurate.

A friend of mine entered to usa on march without sealed envelope. He was fine

The digitalized packages are so much better, you never have to worry about CBP losing it or that CBP forgets to send it to USCIS etc. Wish we had that for our K-1.

Not an issue at all! I also didn't have a sealed package, everything was checked online by CBP when I entered on my CR1.
