I'm tired of waiting for our visa interview. I want to know if I can file for a visiting visa for my husband to visit me while we are waiting for interview date. Has anybody ever experienced this? Can he come to the US on a visiting visa while we wait?

You can fill out the DC160 for a B2 application for him, but he will have to show strong ties to actually get a B2 visa on his own merits.  That being said, there is nothing stopping an application for a B2, and as long as there is no material mis-representation on the DS160 or during the interview, a denial should have no bearing on his spousal visa application.

He can apply, but the wait is over 6 months for a B2 interview, and he is not likely to receive a tourist visa due to immigrant intent.  Consulate Officers are aware that some people want to commit visa fraud by lying to CBP about their intent.

For immigrant visa wait times use the timeline function here on VJ or post in your country's regional forum.
