January 2023 I-130 filers

Our processing time dropped yesterday, too! Was 7 months just the other day, 2 months since yesterday. The note on the USCIS website sounds promising!

 

USCIS service centers are now prioritizing the processing of Form I-130 preference petitions for which an the Department of State Visa Bulletin shows that an immigrant visa is available. The visa bulletin, published monthly, lists available immigrant visas by priority date. USCIS uses the visa bulletin to determine the current visa categories and priority dates before processing a Form I-130 preference petition. Service centers have prioritized our adjudication efforts so that we can focus on those cases that have visas available.

Mine initially said 8 months when i applied in october 2022. It then increased to another 8 months on march. Today it suddenly dropped to 3 weeks.

Processing time is now reduced from 7 months to 2 months for me.

I just logged in a moment ago and now my estimate tab is gone???? Ugh lol the mystery continues!

Hey! I just checked and mine dropped from 11 months to 4 months. This is great! I was so nervous. This makes me feel so much better. Hopefully there is some real action behind this!!

So I logged on this morning and my processing time tab was back, and still said 5 months. 
 

Logged on a minute ago and now it says my case is taking longer than expected to process. 
 

I honestly can’t help but laugh lol, like what the hell are they doing over there in Potomac!

The processing time Is a joke. I have 3 filed for my wife and kids.

Filed 6 Jan 3 Mo

Filed 6 Jan 4 Wks

The 6 Jan’s were literally filed 1 hr apart. We’re in no hurry however people put a lot of faith in the processing date and they shouldn’t.

The 6 Jan’s were literally filed 1 hr apart. We’re in no hurry however people put a lot of faith in the processing date and they shouldn’t. 

Are they all at the same service center?  That would explain the difference in estimated processing times.  Each I-130 is a separate entity.  USCIS will not automatically "put them together".   Be prepared to hold the early cases at NVC until all have reached that point.

All at Nebraska. Doesn’t matter to me about holding. Just the point t assigned dates are random without any type of reasoning.

Yeah, same. Ours was at 7 months and dropped to 5 weeks last week, now 4 weeks.

This thread on Reddit's r/USCIS community suggests that there might be a legitimate operational change behind this, but there's no way to know for sure unless/until people actually start seeing faster-than-expected approvals.

Ours dropped again, this time from 2 months (May 31) to 5 weeks (today, Jun 10). Previously it went from 7 months (May 22) to 2 months (May 31).

Not really, we like living in the Philippines. It’s been 10 years and it’s just time to transition for the kids to have better opportunities. Everyone’s situation is different.
