10-15 pictures with captions are easy to do on a Word doc.

To be fair, your package is not going to get rejected because you held it together in some form or fashion. I think nearly everyone here used either 2-hole punch with ACCO fasteners, binder clips, rubber bands, or paper clips to keep the paper together. I wouldn't trust everything to stay together when mailing without some sort of fastener.

Agreed - this just took me 45 minutes (mainly because Word is a horrible piece of software).

When you have been putting examples of joint bank / account examples / HSA, have you been marking out in terms of like how much is in it or what the account ends in? or does it not matter? it will have bank account xxx ending in 234343 for example with say X amount. thanks

Hello everyone! I just sent my ROC yesterday 1/3. Hopefully we will all have a smooth process.

yea, but even statements have the amount in an account, or like has my roth ira account number, so crossing off that personal information i assume is not a bad idea?

Will mail my paperwork in two weeks. I have a stupid question lol. Did anyone use sticky tabs? I’m sure it’s not that big of a deal, I just remember doing it for AOS and saw it here as well…

this came out 11/16/22. I'm not using anything like that to be safe.

Saw that too, but wasn’t sure if it’s for sticky notes on documents for additional info or something. I just won’t, to be safe (and less work tbh). Thank you!

The advice I have always seen on VJ is not to redact anything. They already have your SSN, DOB, address history, background info, tax info, etc. so there's really no point.

+100 DO NOT redact anything you're sending to USCIS. You'll likely get RFE for that.

yeah, i was thinking more like blacking out with a pen cc number security code, ROTH IRA account number, etc. but i guess not worth it

Yes and the advice we are giving applies to all of that. What exactly are you concerned about that would make you want to redact these things? If it's identity theft or fraud, then as I said before, they already have a ton of sensitive info on file so I don't see how ROC docs being redacted protects you from that. If it's privacy you are concerned about (like the amount of money in a retirement fund) - they don't care if you have $10 in an IRA or 5 million. 

 

I also see from your timeline that you have gone through AOS so presumably, they got financial documents already from that process. Did you redact anything when doing AOS?

 

Personally, I wouldn't risk getting an RFE or causing USCIS to scrutinize your case.
