I am still waiting for my green card to be approved (I-485/1-130 pending). I have a valid EAD and my current US employer sponsored me to take a corporate training course which subsequently enrolled me to a US university. Does anyone know if this will jeopardize my AOS application (marriage-based)? The employer is paying 100% of the tuition. I was told in the past that enrolling in a US college or university while your green card is pending is not allowed. Does anyone know or can find anything official about this? I googled it and cannot find any so hoping to get someone who has direct experience or knowledge about this. Thanks.

Note: I adjusted from B2 (Tourist Visa)

U can go to school. Unless some issue with ur AOS ( highly doubt it will happened ) you will get your GC in the future. It just waiting to happen.

OK, thanks. I think the confusion from my part is the US State Dept says: "Foreign nationals may not study after entering on a visitor (B) visa". So I thought that I can't study until after my green card is approved. I'd rather not take this lousy course if it will jeopardize my application.

You currently waiting for AOS (pending) approval. What kind of visa that u use to enter US is kinda not really important in term of applying for school.

I will rephrase my question as I am not applying for any scholarship or university. By default, I found out that I was recently enrolled in a US university credit course that leads to a degree due to my employer sponsoring the training program.

My question is: Will I get in trouble with USCIS now that they enrolled me to a university credit course that leads to a degree while on AOS (adjusted from B status)?

No. It is part of your employment. You have a valid EAD

The restriction is actually for foreign nationals on B2 status.  You are no longer on B2 status.  The US government does not prohibit AOS applicants/EAD holders from enrolling in a US college/university.

Thank you! This is what I was looking for.
