Ok ..now please look at your ACTUAL ORDER and you will see that it says Proceedings were DISMISSED ( not terminated).

I get the nuances …but I know attorneys were still filing “terminate “ and getting order w “ dismissed”   so I was surprised they asked @Demiseto redraw and refile ..especially since she was pro se. Anyway it worked out.

No dismiss whatsoever on the order. Motion to terminate proceeding granted. That’s it

Wednesday = time for our breathlessly awaited Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

===============================

"DEAR DAD"

A college student wrote a letter home:

"Dear folks,

"I feel miserable because I keep having to write for money.  I feel ashamed and unhappy.  I have to ask for another $100, but every cell in my body rebels.  I beg on bended knee that you forgive me.

"Your son, Marvin.

"P.S.  I felt so terrible that I ran after the mailman who picked this up at the box at the corner.  I wanted to take this letter and burn it.  I prayed to God that I could get it back, but I was too late."

A few days later, he received a letter from his father:

"Dear Son,

"Good news!  Your prayers were answered.  Your letter never came!"

:P

Hello guys,

Finally got my "New card is being produced" message.  After 7 years. YES, I applied for Vawa in the beginning of 2017. Here is my timeline. It has been a tough journey since my Vawa was basically denied.

Here is my timeline:

Feb 2017 applied for vawa
June 2020 made contact with congressman to assist
Oct 2020 got a notice of intent to deny (i was hopeless)
Nov 2020 filed a 601 waiver
Nov 2022 received a rfe for medical and proof of past 5 year taxes filed
June 2023 green card being produced

I learned two very important things during my journey:

Number 1, Never ever lose hope. Pray to God and keep moving forward. Always be positive.

Number 2, Do a good research before selecting your attorney. I went through 3 attorneys from the time I was initially married in 2015 till now. A Good attorney firm will make a huge difference.

My last attorney, the way he handled the 601 waiver was amazing, he basically turned my case around from a Notice of Intent to Deny to a Final approval.

Please do not ask me the name or information of my attorney, since I am not here to make a advertise for any body.

Take Care, and I wish you all the best.

Congratulations bro!

It does take 6 to 9 months. What's your field office? you can also inquire through your congress person.

Do you have idea if USCIS online case tracker usually give update if RFE is sent out by USCIS? Am thinking if I miss one.

Usually it does. As per my own experience i got notifications of all my cases even for my medical as well. I had same feeling as you as well that i might have missed RFE

Other thing you can do is to make an infopass appointment to find out the status of your case.
