Biometrics will be the next step. They don't need them now (which is why you got the letter) but they will need them later on when they actually start processing your case. In many months from now you'll receive a new letter with a date for biometrics.

That....doesn't seem to make much sense.  Have any other members received this letter?

Yes, tons of people. Just check the October, November filers from last year. Tons of people get the letter regarding reusing fingerprints and a few months later they get their biometrics appointments.

Hey all,

I filled my I-751 5/20/19 and received my NOA 5/23/19. My service center is WAC (california).

I'm just checking back to see if anyone received their bio appt letter?

Have they been sending the letter only when your file is being processed?

Thanks in advance!

WAC here. No biometrics or anything yet. If you read back a few pages I think there are a few other WAC-ers too that have no updates yet.

On a completely random note; Apparently USCIS sent my reminder to file to my old apartment, and it was just forwarded to me. The way it was re-sent to me was super weird though. It came with a letter from CSC from the service center director, stating some generic info on where to find things online etc, but the start of the letter said "Thank you for your recent inquiry to the California Service Center via fax or letter for information regarding your case status". The "via fax or letter for information" part is crossed out in pen, and the letter is dated 6/4/19. To that is stapled my I-797 reminder, which is dated 4/3/19, and then also stapled is an envelope from my old apartment, addressed to USCIS (I'm assuming one of the leasing office staff sent it back?) and then lastly stapled to it must be the original yellow manila envelope it came in. I never put in any sort of inquiry request around the time this was dated, so a bit confused. Not that I think any of this matters, I think ultimately there was just some mess up with forwarding the letter to me and returning it to sender from my old address. Just thought it was a bit weird albeit kind of funny considering how many times I put in an address change last year.

I filed in May, cased denied, then refiled in June, got NOA beginning of June ,  still nothing about biometrics.

But I can tell I may have a long way to go since many May filers are still waiting for their biometrics notices.

I just wonder if the biometrics is waived, will USCIS notice us ? Because it does not show anything on mycaseUSCIS

MIne was waived, letter said they are using old ones

It depends on when you biometrics were last taken. Mine were about a year before submitting for ROC.

I have not received biometrics notice so I sent an inquiry, they replied they would send me the notice but what I received is another copy of the NOA , not the biometrics notice. I am quite confused...

Try setting up an account on myuscis site and add your case under your profile it will show you the latest updates and even notify you when there is any changes to it.
