So I'm in a FB recall group for Samsung refrigerators. I'm having issues with my fridge.

Anyways, in the group they are always warning everyone to record calls (yes they tell you to tell the person on the other line you are recording them) and screen shot every text message and save every email. The purpose was that Samsung lies through their teeth and will delete all txt messages and other proof of your calls and texts.

I never really though about it is until I went through my call log and guess what? The call log no longer shows the call I received from Samsung. It is completely gone.

So all you tech wizards how is this even possible?

I have to record every single thing that is related to Samsung. My calls , repair ticket you need a picture of that too or it will disappear and recording the tech because their techs will do things that Samsung will try to blame you for. This is nuts and completely crazy.

Here is the issue I have them on right now. This is the top drawer of my fridge. We couldn't figure out why all of a sudden the easy close or self closing thingy wasn't working  or why the freezer light didn't work.  It felt like something was jamming it. Took the drawer out and that wire explains it all.

So back to my question. How is it possible to delete the call log off another person's phone?

Oh and fair warning, these issues have been going on with Samsung since 2006 and they still are putting appliances out on the market with these same issues. They are known defects and still being sold. Avoid all their appliances.

I have no idea how they are messing with your call log, but I agree about Samsung.  I had a Samsung 48" LED TV several years back that did not last 5 years.  I was updating from an old tube style back then, and did not do a lot of research.  At the time (2008) I purchased the Samsung and a smaller 32" Dynex (the old Best Buy house brand), the Samsung went bad in about 4.5 years with no ability to repair it and no satisfaction from Samsung, I am still using the Dynex.  Looking at a new TV right now, and will not even consider a Samsung.

I've google how they can erase their call off my log and find nothing.

Had the repair tech come yesterday. He said he need to replace the complete rail and would be back in a few days when the part comes in. Not even 5 mins later I get a text saying they have no eta on the part and will let me know when they do.

My 30 days started on the 18th of March. If it is not repaired in 30days. THye owe me a full refund according to the lemon law.

I've heard bad things about Samsung appliances. Seems like a lot of breakdown issues. When I got new appliances recently, I decided to go with GE and so far, so good. I hope you'll be able to get your money back in the worst case, was not aware of the lemon law. Good to know!

I have learned a lot in the last few weeks. It's called  Magnusom Moss act federal lemon law .One thing for sure is I will not buy another samsung. I totally know full well all companies have issues, but the way samsung trains their ppl to outright lie, cheat and to trick you is disgusting. It is sad they delete every record of you so you have to record, screen shot every txt message. Seems they can't delete emails thankfully. They deny tooth and nail they have issues, but the service bulletin they have out for their techs say otherwise.

I'm lucky that my fridge is still cold and not catching fire like some others. We almost lost the freezer because the drawer pictured above that wire is what connects the freezer and I could have lost more then just the light.

All depends.  Reliability isn't what it once was; I don't anticipate my appliances lasting like my grandparent's 40yo refrigerator.  Additionally, the volume of certain appliances that are sold must be considered.  Samsung dominates the market with over 31% of US market share for refrigerators. I'm by no means defending them (I have a faulty ice maker on my fridge), but understanding that numbers of complaints are going to be higher simply due to the sheer volume is important, too.

Everyone RAVES about Bosch appliances.  I had a Bosch dishwasher and HATED it.  Sure, it was quiet, but the thing didn't wash the dishes for anything.  It had one of the stupid recalled wiring boxes that burned up and nearly burned my house down, despite being changed.  Unsurprisingly, they are still selling those stupid boxes to wire the dishwashers with.  My dad had one too and didn't think it was all that and the cat's pajamas, either.  My new dishwasher is a Kitchen Aid and it is far superior to the Bosch, but we'll see how long it lasts!

The lemon law is great to know about.  I need to look further about the ice maker as there are a bunch of class action lawsuits.  I don't care that it's broken, but I do care that I can't seem to get the parts to fix the damned thing and I shouldn't have to endure that repair charge if the engineering was garbage to begin with.

Yes fridges do not last like they used too. But they sure the heck should last more then 6 months. The judge in Camden NJ ruled that a fridge should last at least 10 yrs.

Anyway Samsung's sales are majority outside the US, they said this themselves and had the nerve to say that since most sales are outside the US they do not have to follow US laws.

For your Ice maker there is a free fix for it. Don't pay a penny ask for the free ice maker fix.

If it wasn't for all the bologna Samsung customer service tells their customers the lies and cheats out of their customers it wouldn't be so bad. When I had a Whirlpool dishwasher (they have a class action suit too) but their customer service was decent at least. I have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher now too. So far so good here too.

Several years ago I was ready for a new refrigerator as I hated our GE side by side (not practical for us, and the ice maker was terrible) so relied on consumer reports and their recommendation for the best French door unit was the Samsung.  Bought it and it didn't last long, just a few months past the short, 5 year warranty.  Internal leak that couldn't be fixed.  Bought a Whirlpool instead and it's been fine.

We have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher also.  I think it was one of the first appliances we bought after my wife got here 15 years ago or so.  It was a bit pricy but by far the best dish washer I have ever had.  Very quiet and has held up well.

Wow.  Time flies and it just shows I have not been keeping up on the appliance industry.  I do know they are still making many of those appliances in the same plant in Louisville.

Doesn't matter.  I've mostly switched my loyalty to Whirlpool.  After my wife arrived here she pushed me to buy a new washer and dryer.  She didn't like the top loading washer.  We bought LG appliances.  That LG front load washer was the worst.  Something broke on it every year (which I was able to fix).  But then the bearing that the drum spins on was going and everything I read said don't bother to try to fix it.  No LG ever again for us.

Hemorrhoids?  Shouldn't they be called Assteroids?

Second set of LG Washer/Dryers here.  First set was sold with the house when I left Canada.  Bought this set as last year's floor models back in 2014.  Still going strong.  Bought the pedestal washer, too (also a floor model) - it's handy.  HATED the Samsung front loads my rental house had.

I honestly think until society changes it's perception of electronic items as being disposable, we're stuck with crappy reliability.  We need repairs to be cheaper than replacements.  We're the age of techno junk...it's sad.

That's true, I don't think there's anything on the market now that will last as long as things used to. Convenient features and technology has increased but build quality seems to have gone down across the board. Some of those features are useful, but do I really need WiFi on my washer? It's a bit much.

Similar situation, a good washer and dryer is a must! I decided to go with the GE front loading washer because of the microban/anti-mold rubber gasket (not sure what it's called.) If other brands/models used that, I would've considered them. It seems like GE is the only front loader that has that. I don't get why it isn't just standard in all front loaders really.

I'll have to look into that!  My kids are peaved that they don't have live ice (the horrors of living in TX)

GE sold out their appliance division in 2016 to Chinese brand Haier.

Whirlpool owns the KitchenAid appliances.  I had a Maytag dishwasher at one point (also owned by Whirlpool) and it was the best dishwasher ever.  My new KitchenAid is pretty comparable and hubs is happy we have heated dry.  He wants another 2 drawer Fisher & Paykel.  Maybe when we renovate the kitchen.  For now, I'm good!

Join the FB group for Samsung Refrigerator Recall USA, they have so much information on how to get it fixed. The fix is only temp though sadly. Also get a thermometer in your fridge. The door temp display is not accurate and ppl have been getting sick.

After we bought or KitchenAid dishwasher I was very sad to see that they are owned by whirlpool. I was not happy with them last time. Lets hope my luck improves.

We have a Maytag washer and dryer from 2008. Was the first thing we bought when I moved here. Not going to jinx myself by saying you know what :P  and I'm knocking on wood right now.
