Hi guys it's me again :)

I'm kind of stressing out as I've just seen my gp and they have no record of any of my vaccinations, nothing at all!

Today my doctor administrated, Hep A, Diphtheria, Polio and Tetanus and Typhoid.

Just a question, I have a list of vaccinations and I'm wondering do I actually need all of those when I adjust my status. Please if anyone can help me with exactly which shots I need as I'm so confused

Thank you :)

I was just wondering if anyone knew of the shots so I could get them before going to the medical/USA (30 years old)

Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age:

  • Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. In the UK they will give Revaxis which is Tetanus/diphtheria +polio. Adults don’t need polio for immigration but that’s the combo available in the UK. They don’t have a Tetanus and diphtheria only jab like Adacel given in the US.
  • MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella.  It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical.
  • Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK. A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. They will also waive the shot in the UK for "not routinely available".
  • Influenza - Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31.  If your medical is not during flu season, you don't need it.
  • COVID-19 vaccine - Completely vaccinated with dose 1&2. (New requirement starting 1-Oct-2021).

You didn’t need Hep A or Typhoid.  You need MMR and a flu jab. Your NHS GP won’t give you a flu jab so go to Boots or a clinic like Tesco. Or have your medical after March 31 and flu season is over and so no jab needed.

You do know you can get titers done vs having to get all the shots? For example - if you had chickenpox as a child (most of us did) - you DO NOT need and it's actually contraindicated to get a varicella shot. If you know you had the shots but no records titers would be the best confirmation and it's covered on DS-3025 (Test for Immunity Positive).

Hiya

I had my visa medical in London in 2019.

In addition to what you’ve said you’ve been given, you need the flu jab and be updated on your childhood vaccines- MMR boosters in this case.

Hope this helps.

I made an online appointment at Boots to see the Pharmacist as they don’t do walk-Ins. They say you will have your app with the Pharmacist and then be called back in to get your shots later - but I got Flu and MMR there and then.

Failing that, they will tell you at the Medical what you need and offer to give you them right there - take them at the medical or you will end up having to do another medical after you arrive in the US.

Ah thank you :)

I dont know why I thought we had to get all of the vaccinations posted on visamedical. For example, hep a+b,  Pneumococcal etc haha

I'll look into paying for a private MMR asap and skip the flu seeing as my interview will moat likely be after March

Thank you once again, very much appreciated

Ahh perfect, I'll have a look at my local Boots and see if I can get something booked asap as ideally I'd rather have both shots before my medical :)

Thank you very much

Be sure you understand that your medical exam has to be after March 31 to skip flu. It’s not the interview.

IF your MMR date is less than 4 weeks before the medical, you can skip MMR#2 for “insufficient time interval”. If you get your MMR now and get a medical appointment more than 4 weeks after the shot, they will say you’re due MMR#2 because  enough time has passed since the first one to get the second. Plan your timing.

If you have your new LNDXXXXXXXXX case number from NVC, you can schedule your medical. The clinic asks for the case number.  People call NVC to find out that number over the phone. The clinic is running way behind so getting on their appointment books ASAP is a good idea.

I'll be sure to book my medical after March 31st - Wouldn't I still need the flu vaccination when going through the AOS process when in the US?

Yeah, very big chance my MMR date is going to be less than 4 weeks before my medical. Question, if its less than 4 weeks and the medical doctor says "insufficient time interval" would I still need to book a second shot in the USA or will AOS be approved with only one shot?

I called today and finally got my LND number, shall I fill in and submit the DS form online now or wait until my case says "ready"?. Also, if I were to book my medical for let's say 1st April but my case is still at NVC would this be a problem? As in would my medical need to be 5 days before my interview?

Thank youuuu in advance :)!

If you have everything needed then you get signed off on an immunisation form at the medical saying you are complete for AOS requirements. Waivers count as done. You are done with shots, doctors etc. for immigration purposes.

Tdap done

MMR getting

Flu waived for not flu season

Varicella waived because you will tell them you had chickenpox

COVID (both shots) ???

Make sure by getting the medical appointment before you go get that MMR. You have control over the time go be sure your shot is less than 4 weeks. Waivers count as complete as explained above.

You can because nobody looks at it until your interview. It just sits on a server somewhere waiting for your day. You will get a confirmation of submitting so print that off and put in your interview folder because you take that confirmation to show so they can pull it up on the day.

The way the clinic is so far behind you may not even get a date that soon. You can push it back into April and not pick April 1. You can reschedule if needed. You will need the confirmation fromNVC that you file has gone to London that shows your LND number on it. They want it in official writing when you arrive at the medical, not what you copied down over the phone.  You need to be using the UK forum for this part. You could read how far out people are saying the clinic in London is with appointments and that people are attending their interview before the medical. You’re in a worldwide forum,  and for now you need London specific discussion. Every clinic and embassy is slightly different in their procedures.

Do you have your health care summary (Personal Care Record) from NHS? Do you have your police certificate? You can’t go to the medical without those. Do you know how to get those? Ask the UK forum.

Is your fiancé preparing the I-134 Affidavit of Support?

Haha this is embarrassing but I think due to the hate of needles I was oblivious to what the nurse was telling me during my vaccination appointment!! So I just recieved my immunisation report from my gp and it actually states I recieved, 2 covid shots, MMR, Hep A and DPT - I booked an appointment to go back to complete the 2nd dose of MMR for 7th April.

I have just spoken to Knightsbridge and booked an appointment for the 11th April (hopefully I get my physical letter from NVC by this time)

I have started my DS form and the employment/education part I'm kind of wondering if I can be cheeky.. So I have 5 months left before being at my current job for 5 years and I really don't remember my last employers details so I'm kind of thinking to just leave out my previous employer. What do you think? At the time of my interview I would probably have 3 months left before being with my current employer for 5 years!

I have Health Care Summary, police cert from UK and Aus. My fiance filled in the I-134 but we're just waiting for the tax return to accompany the W2. I think we're all set :)!!

I will head over to the United Kingdom section :)

I cannot thank you enough for all you do for me and others needing help on this forum, really you have helped me so much!
