i did not have a return reciept, but i checked the status online at usps.com...as long as you have your reciept from the post office, you can track your mail and it should tell you when it was recieved...it usually takes a few extra days to recieve a return receipt

I sent my I-129F package on July 9, and the cleared check posted my bank's website today. Was able to use the image to get my receipt # to login to my USCIS case and set-up e-mail updates and check status. I learned my NOA1 was mailed on July 12, though I've not yet received it. It's nice to know the check cashed which I guess means there was no basic horrible oversight by me. Just mailing the thing was a relief to me after all the reviewing and updating I did.

In case it helps anyone, my case number was located as the 4th line of a computer stamp undeneath the "endorse here" on the back of my check. The first row of this stamp read "For Credit to U.S. Treasury". There is a dotted underline after the 3rd row, and under that my case # was listed in row 4 as 3 letters followed by 10 numbers. (EAC##########)

There are a few different stamps and references so hope this helps someone login to their own case.

Good luck to all.

id say that its possible to have your fiance here this year, but not likely...most people wont finish the process that quickly...i would say that most of us should finish (hopefully) by march-ish...but im hoping for january/february...vermont is usually the quickest, and it also depends on the embassy...i think germany is usually a pretty good one, but im not positive...

anything is possible though! and timelines are notoriously unpredictable!

best of luck to you all

Hi,

I sent in my 129F and it was received on July 2nd. I have a "notice date" of July 11th with my WAC receipt number. Although my center is supposed to be Texas, it was transfered to California. I looked up the intervals - please tell me that I misread it!!! 6 months for a decision??? Why would my case have been transfered and is that good or bad?

Also, what is the next step? and what is a NOA?

Many thanks!

Elena

Texas no longer processes K1 applications and they are transferred to California. The first NOA1 is sent out by California to tell you that they have entered your petition into the system and have given you a case number. Your case then gets put into a box on a shelf until they work their way through to it. This will take around 3 months or so. If they are happy with your petition you will then receive an NOA2 and your petition will be forwarded to NVC who then forward it to the embassy of your fiance. This takes around 3 or 4 weeks. The embassy will then send out packet 3 and eventually provide an interview date. How long this takes also depends on how fast your fiance's embassy processes the application. If you fill in your timeline then Visajourney will give you an estimated NOA2 date based on when the service centre received your application.

17th March 2010 - Started the removal of conditions process

22nd March 2010 - Application received by CSC

30th April 2010 - Biometrics appointment

I'm praying and hoping to be able to travel over in late feb, early march but not holding my breath. I'm hoping this recent slow down due to a rush of people filing to beat the fee increase. I'm also hoping that now the employment based visa cap is reached they'll be able to dedicate more time to the other visas like the K1/2/3's ect.

good luck once again to everyone.

So why in the world would they have us send our petitions to Texas if they don't process them anymore???? Frustration already and it's been less than a week! Could have cut at least a weeks time off of it if I could have sent it directly to California!!!
