Senegal Cr1 visa timeline

Hey there everyone, I will be applying for my wife to get a Cr1 visa. She is a South African Citizen but we are moving to Senegal where my parents are working. I am wanting to know if anyone has recently gone through the process of applying for the Cr1 visa and how long everything took at the Dakar embassy? Also, is there any advise on the entire process or easy ways to speed it up? Thank you all for your help!

Have you read, studied, and learned the process in this guide?  There is no way to speed up the process.  Immigration requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and money.

1. Read the guideline that @Crazy Cat posted. Do some research, read posts here in VJ.
2. Gather all the required documentation as early as possible.
3. Keep copies of anything you send to USCIS. (keep original of documents, send them the copy).
4. Go back and re- read the guidelines.
5. Your spouse should also sign for an account in here.

Unfortunately, no. Otherwise everyone would take "the easy way". For immigration nothing is urgent, that's why this process requires patience, time, energy, planning, thoroughness, and money.

and while you're waiting ,  file your US tax returns with form 2555 for the portion of exempt foreign income

 

Remember to maintain a US residency as that is needed to sponsor (us bank account,  State DL,  etc)

if you income is not US income,  you will need a joint sponsor later in the process so line be prepared
