My husband went back to his country due to an emergency, (which did not rise to the level of USCIS emergency advance parole.)  In any case, I wrote a letter to USCIS to withdraw the I485 and the work permit and advanced parole, so that then I can proceed to file for a spousal visa, my question is does anyone know how long USCIS will take to respond, we have checked online our status and still shows in progress.  Thanks

It might take several weeks before they respond......if they even do.  You can proceed with the spousal visa process now.  His adjustment of status has been abandoned/withdrawn.  Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Agree with @Crazy Cat, don't waste time waiting for them to respond. Get the spousal visa started right away to get in the line.

Just so you are aware. You can't withdraw the 485, 765, 131. Those are your husband's applications and only himself can withdraw them. You can however withdraw the 864, which will cancel the main application. But, by traveling without AP, AOS is already considered abandoned.
