Just to add to this, I've seen many people say they never received instructions. I guess it depends on the country 🤷

Just keep on eye on it I guess.

Yes, the Dominican Republic is one of those countries I think.

60 days...sigh. :( Thank you! Is that when NVC estimates that they ship the case and if so will they mail a physical letter with the case number?

In the Dominican Republic the consulate doesn't send out instructions, but interviews can be scheduled on the website with the NVC number. We already started it and just need that to get to the last page.... but I wish they would send the number!!

It really varies, unfortunately. I know some people who had their case received by the NVC within 45 days and others that that have waited almost twice as long. Yes, you will receive a letter from the NVC either by e-mail or mail.

Best of luck!

They are barely hanging onto the 80% of cases touched within 15 months estimate. And considering that touched =/= closed, we're likely approaching 15.5 months processing.

Hi!
So you can’t schedule your interview in DR without the number and NVC will email you that number only when your case gets shipped from nvc to the embassy.  Cases get shipped every two weeks so you should be checking periodically to see if your case has been sent. NVC has a contact page that you can use to get in contact with them and request that number since they aren’t answering phones at the moment

I received my "Request for Initial Evidence" today, They want me to send them a passport style phone. The problem is I am 100% sure I sent it during the initial application so logic dictates that someone lost my photo. It is probably on the floor underneath a shelf there. I've read on this forum that these types of request are a good opportunity to provide extra evident so I'm going to do that.

Send only their request! Don’t send something More or different. Whatever they asked you. Provide that evidence

We did fill out a request on the contact page and they responded a few weeks later with a form email suggesting that we fill out a request on the website :(

Will they send a physical letter as well as an email?
