Glad to hear that.  Sputum testing at St. Lukes has had it's share of controversy.  Maybe the real question is, was the first test necessary?

I would say no.

Maybe you can follow up with the embassy in a day or two (once they have the new medical results) and push for the visa.  You'll need to mail the passport back with the 221g letter through 2GO.

Did you get your exception approval yet for a visa to go back?  I know a few people who have recently received this, but it took about 3 months for them to get it.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

That's awesome.   Some good news for once.

Maybe the used a little Windex to clean that spot off their x-ray machine sometime between the first medical and second medical.

She has to go back to SLEC today then she will be finished. I really was hoping that they would complete it in 1 day since no vaccines were needed. But this is SLEC so I should expect it. I am just extremely thankful that we had no sputum. We will probably submit the 221G and passport to 2GO tomorrow.

It has been just over a month so far and no response. I wanted to follow up with the Consulate, but I figured I would wait until my wife has her visa. I don't know the length of validity on the visa and exemption so the last thing I want is to get it and it only be good for 30 days. That would be my luck.

My wife went back for the 2nd day today. The told her that the pulmonary doctor wants to see her. She was thinking what she was told yesterday was too good to be true. He reviewed her x-rays with her, and had her x-ray from her first medical as well. He showed her how the new ones were clear as opposed to the first. He asked if she was ready to go to America. She said YES. He said congratulations you are ready to travel. Now time to send the 221g and passport back. Hopefully visa in a few weeks.

I can now say this is FALSE! My wife had to go for her 2nd medical today. First medical she had to do the sputum. The delay in completing the medical because of sputum test, along with the delay in rescheduling her interview caused the medical to expire. She went in for second medical today and they said no sputum. We were both extremely relived!

Did your wife take any medicine in preparation for the second x-ray?
