My wife just received her biometrics letter today.

Texas Service Center for us. 

Her biometrics are being waived & reusing previous ones.

Case status online hasn’t changed.

Also just a bit of information for anyone that may need it.
We just got back from a quick weekend trip to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. We returned via bridge “walked across border”

When it came time to check our immigration documents the nice lady scanned my wife’s green card and it’s obviously expired. The official politely and almost automatically asked for the extension letter, which my wife already had in hand. She asked when she crossed into Mexico and for what reasons and took her picture. She gave my wife her documents back and we were on our way. Absolutely no issues and super quick. I’m assuming once they scan the green card it probably shows your immigration status on the computer screen. We honestly weren’t worried about it one bit.

yes it's your right. They should know it and you should not be worried.

Just to let everyone know, The case status will not change if your biometrics has been waived. Case Status will only change if you have to go in and provide them.

I see a lot of people posting about their biometrics letter.. We have not received anything, my husband is here on a CR1 and we applied for the 10 year green card in June.. Does everyone receive a letter? Thanks in advance!

FYI, this is not correct. We were just approved a couple weeks ago and when they waived our biometrics back in May, our case status updated to state: "Biometrics Applied...USCIS was able to reuse your previously captured biometrics and fingerprints." As with anything with USCIS, your mileage may vary, but historically case statuses do change with a biometrics waiver. It would not surprise me if they take a few weeks to appear though.

It depends on your service center. Some of us that just got our biometrics recently have SRC which currently has a processing time of 4.5-7.5 months. You should check currently processing times for your service center because they vary.

Good to know. When my husband applied for his I-90 (replacement green card) and he had his biometrics waved, it never changed. It went from "case received" to "card being produced" and I felt like we were stuck in limbo for like 3 months. It's good to know that it will change.

Sorry for the late post - Life got busy. I was also worried about the Biometrics Waiver letter. I got mine on 8/16 last Monday dated on 8/11. My case is also based at the Texas Service Center.
