You can only contact the Ombudsman 60 days after the date your case is out of processing time - someone from Feb tried to do so before and they were told they can’t do anything. I might contact my representative if I don’t hear anything this week or I don’t see movement with other cases.

I submitted an inquiry and got a response saying I'd hear back December 6th, but it's abundantly clear that it would be just a generic reply. That's why if I contact my representative now, I was wondering if there could be some movement from their office in contacting USCIS by the time I get a response. Or perhaps that's just wishful thinking?

Yeah I’m sure that wouldn’t do any harm! I completely understand your point of view because unless they leave behind a huge number of cases in February, they have a lot of work to do to catch up.

It feels like they stopped even looking at cases by how slow things are going… are they even looking at cases at the moment? It’s so frustrating because it was looking good January and early February, they where getting through a lot.

It's beyond frustrating because the embassy situation isn't getting any better, particularly in Eastern Europe where they're just closing embassies and forcing everyone into Warsaw. What went from a February 2022 approximation is now looking at summer at that's just so heartbreaking. I'm definitely going to be contacting my representative because if there's no intention on looking at these petitions anytime soon I would rather know now and be prepared than feeling like I'm lying to my fiancee.

Based on the VJ spreadsheet, several February cases were processed yesterday. There appears to be no movement today, though. Unless, of course, it just has not been updated yet.

I don’t think they update it everyday (the last tab shows who updates each section and when they did) but I saw NOA-1s from Feb 1, 22, and 25 post about approvals today here and on fb, so at least there is some movement! But based on the date on the USCIS processing page they might be getting April inquiries soon and haven’t even really started on March 😱 Fingers eternally crossed for good news soon for many more!

We're in there now updating but usually we do it late in the day or early in the morning because the staff in CA are working until about 6pm PST or 9pm Eastern time. We don't always do it every day, especially when they're being slow, because it does take a bit of time to do. :)

I know you hear this often, but we're all very thankful for keeping us updated :) Out of curiosity, are you noticing any different trends for the February filers that suggested trouble for March? As in, does it appear the new 'thing' is to finish more of a month before moving forward with the next?

It's hard to say about the trends. I was watching Dec and Jan closely when waiting and they definitely both had the "we've done half so now we're slowing down and looking at the next month." Since there isn't a March spreadsheet I really don't know what that looks like. It certainly seems that things have slowed down and maybe they're trying to get through more before moving to March, but without having the daily average from January, I don't have the data to back that up.

March has barely been touched. Either processing has slowed down in general or they are playing catch-up.

Encouraging news from the Facebook group, March applicant (3/2) got an approval after receiving a response to their inquiry. Though it's still the very beginning of March, happy to know they're forward-looking!

We are from 17th of March, don't lose hope. Sending the inquiry was a good first start, it seems to me that the people who *are* delayed and are the first to get approvals are the ones who did send the inquiries, though this is a bit of a broad generalization. It's always hard to wait at the end - that's why we don't see the April or May filers as stressed as us. :) I suggest joining the Facebook groups so you can be up-to-date on everything.
