That is the purpose of AP...so you are able to return to the US after traveling out of the country

Many have traveled outside the US and back with AP. AP travel is very low risk. But you'll need "proof of a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19" on the way back: https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/fr-proof-negative-test.html

If you transit through the Schengen Area or UK, below are some tips: https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/u-s-visa-and-travel-faqs/

If you travel, please follow the steps below:

  • Do not attempt to check in for your flight online if you have an ESTA registration.
  • Arrive early for your flight.
  • Carry as many original documents as you have available that you believe demonstrate why you have been excepted from a travel restriction, such as a Permanent Resident Card (commonly known as a Green Card), a marriage certificate, or a birth certificate. We are unable to provide guidance about your documents or whether copies will be considered sufficient as such questions are a matter for CBP when you travel.
  • You may also wish to carry a printed copy of the Presidential Proclamation itself.
  • Your status will be reviewed in consultation with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials. Please note that smaller airports may not have CBP officials on site.
  • If applicable in your case, your ESTA will be reinstated in order to allow you to board.

Oh really why? I was told its okey to travel with the old name in the passport and just bring the marriage certificate and all the supporting documents to show on the way back to the US. I haven't changed my name in the passport either and was planning to travel back to my home country in April but I am having second thoughts about it since its the pandemic and a lot can happen like candles flights, closed borders, etx. :(

You can call your embassy to check it.

They told me its illegal to travel with "false ", documents.i know it's not true but I didnt wanted to have surprises .especially because I would have a layover in Istanbul and they are strict with the documents

I detailed what documentation is needed for legal purposes in one's native country, and is also very helpful when traveling, except for perhaps an additional certified translation of the documents, in the OP's other thread...
