We bumped into ex-Mrs.-T-B. and Mini-B. at our very first GS, encounter we ex-she and wee man man.

Both were sweating profusely, hot day but casa A/C not fixable till Monday man.

 

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. was gleefully buying something, always used to hammer us about this man.

Soon thereafter, we texted to ask ex-she man about her GS fortunes, inquire we of ex-she man man.

Quoth ex-she man:  "I run out of money  ," surprise man.

We immediately wrote, "CTR, pronto, si man!!"  [call the Rojo, si man]   man

 

We finished GS-ing and groceries for Two Guys week by half-past noon o'clock, timely man.

Breakfast/lunch/din-din was Manycans (toucans + toucans) of chicken noodle soup, bought from the closeout bin at supermarket, financially savvy and didn't want to cupboard them we man.

 

Napped for >1 hour, zzz we man.

At Many p.m., we decided to get our hairs cut, decisive we man.

Great job by Vietnamese (?) dude, didn't mess us up man.

Saved $Many by use of Val-Pak coupon, financially savvy we man.

 

Then gassed the T-B.-mobile, what a gas man.

Was day's last customer at pharmacy, timing everything is man.

 

Mowed front lawn, chiefly to rid yard of storm detritus man.

Finished just before sunset, timing everything is man.

 

Showered, pleased to kill cut-hairing + mow-lawning showers at one time, financially savvy we man.

Ministered to miu, demanding miu man.

 

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. called to say that ex-she & Mini-B. were going to an amiga's casa, too hot in casa man.

Amiga offered to let them spend the night, apparently man.

Amiga's son is an amigo of Mini-B., good choice man.

We wonder why they didn't go to the Rojo's casa, maybe distance and the above are why man.

 

We have just begun and completed eating an entire bag of Hostess chocolate mini-donuts,**, ingest we man.

There were allegedly Many (2x2x2x2 -1) donuts in the bag, zero there now man.

The stupid things mostly stuck together, needed professional tools to separate them man.

Our mouth, a napkin, our fingernails, and probably our black t-shirt are smeared with chocolate, smear campaign man.

Rant, see man:  The food chemists at Hostess need to do their thing better, separation processes man.

So.... I had a thing happen today. Stealing from a message I sent elsewhere to someone else about what happened because it was quite an event and I'd rather not type it out again.

Here's the problem: we're property lawyers. We can't do that for you. So let's figure out how to get you the excellent representation you deserve. The best place -- would you believe it? -- to start is Yelp or Google Reviews. Search for family law practitioners. Yeah, I know you're upset, and it sounds really bad for you. But you need to take a business card from us, and go on Google. I know you're upset, it sounds so bad. But we can't help you.

 

And then... he left. I watched the guy cycle in and out of fury and being calm as Meghan talked to him, until he settled on calm. Unbelievable. I locked the door. And then Meghan collapsed in a chair and started shaking and saying she was convinced the guy could have done anything. And then it hit me: he could have. About 15 minutes later, Milena grabbed the checks to deposit at the bank and opened the door but she was back in in a second: "He's squatting down in the hallway." Meghan told us no one was leaving, everyone was staying. No check deposit was worth someone's safety. Milena called the management office and they told her they knew about the guy, the suite next door had called in the report as well and they were taking care of it. Eventually we got the all clear about 20 minutes later.

 

So... new protocol this week (did I ever mention we are all women except for the big boss?). Front door locked (it never is unless one person is inside), and if the guy comes back call 911 immediately. The shock of all of this -- the guy was literally three feet away from me for much of the incident -- was delayed and didn't hit me until over an hour later. Alex, when I told him, asked me if we needed him to come and sit in the reception area with a knife but I had to tell him no. When I got home, there was a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc chilling for me and I am on my way to getting a bit tipsy.

 

What a day.

Had rough night, coughing most of it man.

Returned to casa and, after brief deliberation, retired to bed for Siesta #1, zzz we man.

 

Lunch was the entire Many-piece ([2+2+2]-piece) bottle of gefilte fish bought from supermarket closeout bin, ingest and financially savvy we man.

 

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. reported installation of new American Standard furnace at reasonable rate*, pleased ex-she man.

After brief deliberation, retired to bed for Siesta #2, zzz we man.

Had one of those happen to us just about a week ago.  A lady popped into our office and asked our receptionist to fax a document for her.  The receptionist asked her if she was our patient.  She was not.  Being the nice people we are we decided to help her out and send her fax.  It seems it was a fax to her bank and had something to do with her lost ATM card and password.  She used our phone number as her contact number.  We faxed it, it made the typical tones a fax makes when sending, but was unsuccessful making the connection.  Lady insisted we do it again, and again, and again.  We did but each time it was a failure.  She insisted that it had been successful as she heard the tones...  We handed her back her papers and said sorry, but she would not leave.  Mind you, this lady appeared to be from the AA/drug rehab facility a few doors down, and was acting very strange.  We assumed she was on drugs or off her meds.  Constantly touching her face and whining and saying the same things over and over in a very loud voice.  We asked her to leave but she refused and said we had her paperwork, I assume it was the paperwork she thought would be faxed.  When we insisted she leave she yelled she was going to call the police.  Not a great thing when there are other patients in the reception.  

 

I was working on a patient and only heard some of what was happening and didn't have a chance to come out to help.  Receptionist called her husband, a friend of ours that works close by.  He came and saw what was happening and called the police.  Before the police arrived she understood what was about to happen and fled.  Police said if it occurs again to lock the door and they would come and take her away.

 

Next day she called our office a few times threatening to send her boyfriend over.  She finally quit calling or coming by.  It certainly affected my receptionist the same way it did to you.  

 

Never expected that in our community.

That's awful -- so sad to hear that you and your staff had to go through that. I work in a pretty well-to-do part of Los Angeles, lots of people driving G-wagons and hot young mommies in athleisure, if you know what I mean. We never think about this sort of thing happening here because hardly anything happens here -- if it does, the cops are here immediately because, well, there are a lot of rich and powerful people who live here and work here. My husband was pretty apoplectic when I told him about everything as we discussed it further, and he strongly suggested we get a Ring doorbell installed or similar. He also likened it to a home invasion, which yeah, it kind of was. We're going to have an all hands meeting next week to discuss how to increase safety.

@laylalex @Neonred sorry that happened to you guys. We've had a few crazies come in at our business too. We invested in a security camera system and panic button that automatically calls the police. Certain systems allow authorized employees to install the app on their phones, so that nobody has to physically peek into the hallway or the back door to check if a crazy is still hanging around. The crazies also seem to be tamer when they know they're on camera. 

 

Our system isn't that expensive - approx $60/month for 5 cameras around the property. Well worth the price.
