I have tried asking this simple question before and only 2 people replied but they gave me the run around about joining some kind of thread. So I want to attempt this simple question again and hopefully get a yes or no answer if that’s not too much to ask. Can I email or even call the national visa center and ask them for my case number for my k1 visa petition? Again this is a simple yes or no question. The nvc website claims that they can’t answer emails regarding the status of k1 visas right now but I don’t know if that’s true or not. But they did say you could call them. I would prefer to email but I can call. So can anyone just simply answer this question with a yes or no?

Yes, you can call.

The "run around about joining another thread" was there to help you.  That thread goes into detail about how to contact the NVC and what to ask for.  And also how to track your case if and when it gets sent to the embassy.

Yes.

People are trying to reach out and help you. If you use, their advice, and it helps solve your dilemma then so be it. The links that were shared with you will help you not only with your current question but those that you will have in the future. You can't fathom the number of questions that are asked over and over. We try and have patience for each one of those questions. The information that we provide is not only for your use but the use of any VJ member who has a like question. We get many on here that are trying to navigate to an answer. Some are more apt to use the tolls here on VJ or the succumb to use the search engines to garner the answer to their question.

There is a great tool to use from this page to find many answers to your questions. I used the "search" box in the upper right-hand corner, and I was able to see many articles concerning your topic here on VJ. It's an amazing tool to use. It's helped me to find answers to simple questions. I recommend that you become familiar with it as it will be an additional tool in your toolbox while you are processing at each step along the way.

Be grateful for the help you do receive by acknowledging that person with using the replies located under the "heart" in the bottom of the right side of their reply. Good luck and stay engaged.

So NVC is lying?

Do you think you'll get in trouble if you try calling or emailing?

No one here can give you approval.

Try contacting them, the worst is you don't get an answer.

The time you spent here could've been on the phone.
