Father has to fly to her home country. Submit the online form for embassy interview for the born child abroad. Get all papers. And go to the interview. Make sure a child has a birth certificate with the father name in it and translated into English. But they might ask for dna test. It might take more time. Once they approved, they will get crba and passport for baby

@Olga88  Thanks so much. Would advice they get a dna test done when the father visits Nigeria. Because he hasn’t even seen the baby due to the shut down of our international airport

Olga88 is incorrect. The father doesn't need to go to Nigeria. The father can go to a lab inside the US if DNA is requested by the consulate: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/travel-legal-considerations/us-citizenship/US-Citizenship-DNA-Testing.html

DNA Sample Collection Inside the United States

Parents, or other relatives being tested, must not directly receive DNA test kits for themselves or their children. The AABB-accredited lab will inform the applicant or petitioner where to go for DNA sample collection. At the appointment, the applicant or petitioner will submit a buccal swab and identification. The AABB collection site or clinic must submit the DNA sample and copies of proof of identification directly to the AABB-accredited lab for testing.  The applicant or petitioner must ask the lab to forward test results directly to the U.S. embassy or consulate, or domestic passport agency or center.

I didn’t say to make dna test. I said they might ask for it. When we applied for our son’s passport. They asked to provide a dna test. We had to go to the embassy and they took dna example!

You still haven't read the link?  It was posted 3 times!

Do not get the DNA test until the consulate tells them to.  It will not be accepted.   And the father does not have to be there.

I told my experience! The father had to go to the embassy to apply for out sons passport. And we provided a dna test at the embassy after they asked for it!!!!!

The sample is collected by an AABB certified facility or in a chain of custody that DOS allows.  There hasn't an AABB collection point there.

Now the reason that the father was required to be there is simple.   CRBA requirements vary by country.   The instructions for you require the presence of both parents. https://kg.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/birth/

The reply that you quoted was directed at the OP,  who by their line of questioning, made it clear that they had not bothered to look at the consulate link that was referred to multiple time indicating the process for Nigeria..
