Hi friends,

I am new on here and I hope that this question is posted in the correct place. Like many of you, my fiance and I are awaiting the approval for our marriage visa. I am from the US, and he is from The Netherlands. After seeing the US government's declaration (see bottom of post) we felt this was finally our chance we've been waiting for for months.

I have been trying for days to get a hold of somebody at the consulate in Amsterdam. Does anybody know if this post will be one of the posts who will now process K visas? I cannot find any information as of yet. Thank you all. It is nice to finally find a place where other people are following similar journeys as we are.

"Effective August 28, as it becomes safe to resume more consular operations at each U.S. mission, posts are authorized to give K visa cases high priority.  Applicants should check the website of their nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate for updates on what services that post is currently able to offer. The I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) is typically valid for four months; however, consular officers may revalidate the I-129F petition in four month increments.  For most cases impacted by the suspension of routine visa services or COVID-19 travel restrictions it will not be necessary to file a new I-129F petition."

Unfortunately from what people here have posted, this does not override the current Schengen area travel ban, and embassies are saying they won’t process K1s until after the expiration of the ban.

Has it been stated when the travel ban is thought to be lifted? I can't find anything specific online

They have not even processed cancelled K1 in places such as Australia, Canada, Japan and Singapore where there are no bans. This "higher priority" wording has not changed anything for K1.

Yes there is no ban for Russia either, but they are not processing any immigrant at all
