Hi, i am LPR applied for minor children F2A, case DQ on 8/5/2020 , waiting since then for Islamabad Embassy to schedule interview. I hope Ban will not effect our case.

@Butterfly2 Can you share when your F2A case number was created by NVC? I understand that your I-130 was approved back on 4/30/2020 and you were DQ on 8/5/2020. Thanks.

Regarding your question- all F2A minor children or spouse is affected by ban until 12/31/2020. The ban can continually be renewed by whoever is elected president (the courts have upheld the executive branch's power on such bans) and hence why the elections in 5 weeks is super important and has a major impact on immigration!

Only embassies are not doing interviews because of Presidential Proclamation. USCIS and NVC won't stop processing and its a good thing for applicant. Atleast, after the ban is removed, only step remaining is interview.

K-1 Visa process (I'm the USC [M])

Oh so islamabad embassy isn't also working on f2a visas until december 31 ?

'@Butterfly2 @Skull78000 The presidential ban on F2A spouse and minor children lasts to 31 December is for ALL EMBASSIES, not just Islamabad. This means NO consular interviews and therefore NO immigrant visa (IV) issuance for this and other categories affected by the ban. As @jamesbond123 mentioned, only IR-1/ CR-1 spouse and minor children is not affected by the EO ban.

It is very likely that the incumbent will win the re-election. If so and if he chooses to keep renewing the executive order ban again on 1/1/2021, he is well within his rights as president as the courts have affirmed (both lower courts, appeal courts, and supreme court).  Even though USCIS can keep processing I-130's and NVC can keep DQing cases, it means nothing if an interview cannot be scheduled or a visa be issued.

That is why you see over and over again on many posts on this forum about the importance of voting (for citizens). Unfortunately as an F2A petitioner, you can't make your voice known until after naturalization.
